5-8 passing for 53 yards in the half. Numbers like that would indicate we are a triple-option team, but we’re not. We just have a very puzzling offensive game plan. I think you're using the wrong word. puz·zling Adjective "causing one to be puzzled; perplexing" I don't think opposing defensive coordinators are perplexed or confused by this offense. This past week may have been the easiest practice week they've ever had

I don’t care if this is Chesney’s first year. Might as well not even have coaches But he's got those cool ray-bans. That's the important thing.

This may well be the most boring HC game I've evah seen....and I have seen a bunch How can a team that spreads and shreds be boring?

At least one wide open receiver in the left flat. Wide open. You saw what I saw.... Alexander wide open, nobody within 15 yards of him, on third down and Wade locks in on another receiver and incomplete pass!!!!! Unbelievable! You can blame the OC all you want but we desperately need a QB!!!! Whose decision is it to play him?

One where your runners don't start deep in the backfield when you are in a short yardage situation; or at least doesn't require the qb and running back to stand there and figure out where the hole is. Too many bodies coming at you in a small area. Yes, requires more of a push and maybe HCs OL cannot do that now or 5 games from now, admittedly. If the offensive line doesn't block it doesn't matter what play is called. If the offensive line doesn't block? Are you insinuating there's no talent on the OL? In another thread you made it known that you believe there's no talent at the skill positions. You said the receivers are slow and the rb's have no speed and have "very poor vision" Let's take a look at the starting OL and keep in mind the ht/wt on the roster haven't been updated in a year Brian Foley 6'4 306lb - when he was in hs he had offers to play at Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri, Indiana State, Bucknell and two pioneer schools. Iowa St invited him to campus. Jack Bowler 6'3 287lb - 11 offers including James Madison, Richmond, Army, Air Force, Eastern Ky, Charleston Southern and Gardner Webb. Max Daurelle 6'3 275lb - 7 offers including Air Force and a pwo to Michigan. Brett Boddy 6'3 302 lb.- couldn't find anything online about offers. However, his bio shows he was all state in hs. Jackson Dennis 6"6 302 lb - From what I recall he had an offer from Central Florida. These guys aren't stiffs. If they're not getting the job done, maybe it's not them. As far as the rb's are concerned, fyi - they have a guy on the roster who had 23 d1 offers (8 fbs) coming out of hs and we've barely seen him. If the rb's are so bad, why has he had only a few carries? And Cozier is hardly slow. And by the way, neither is Alexander. You said the qb's are "at best d3 caliber." Then why would they play them over a qb who was a 3* recruit? Oh that's right, he's not mobile. Apparently, this kid has to practice in one of those grocery store scooters because he isn't capable of running. I don't think anyone is calling for any coaches to be fired, but to say there's no talent on this team and throw the blame completely on the players seems a little unfair.

This indicates to me that Chesney is a risk taker more than other coaches we've had. I wonder if it's a matter of him being a risk taker or does he give his players the green light in making those decisions?

I will make three additional observations. 1.) The opening kickoff was returned from 2-3 yards deep in the endzone by a player not named K. Raymond. He struggled to get to the 16 yard line. Unless the film showed Bucknell's kickoff team to be ponderously slow, he should have been instructed to take a knee. That is coaching. 2.) Last year, Cole Tracy attempted 29 FG. This year, through five games, HC kickers have attempted three. 3.) Assumption is 4-1. Their one loss was to Kutztown by four points., Kutztown is a traditionally strong team. In each of their four victories, the Greyhounds have not scored fewer than 49 points. What all three suggest to me is that coaches whose entire experience is in Div II and III have not yet adjusted to the speed and recognition ability of defenses in Division !. . You truly have no idea about what you are talking about. Every post makes you sound more ignorant than the previous. I realize you never played football so I guess you can be excused, as hard as that may be. Which of his points do you disagree with? And why?

JMO but it might be a good idea to see what the 3* 3rd stringer can do. I know, I know, he's not very mobile. Can he get the ball out quick and hit targets downfield? The team has two PL losses and no chance of winning the league. What's to lose?

If this is a QB/OC issue What has changed for Wade between his sophomore and senior year? He enjoyed success earlier but is struggling a bit this year despite his individual effort and desire to win From what I recall about that season two years ago when PP got injured, the two qb's who played were Bell and Wade and neither lit the world on fire, although iirc Wade played well against Harvard.

Roughing the kicker. Unreal. Why ?? They should have played it safe there. They were getting the ball back with good field position.

URI will be consistently top 3 of the CAA in a year or two. They may even already be there. That's what happens when you hire a great coach.
