Thx for clip. Enjoyed it. Lots reminds me of Benedicts, except Benedicts is in better financial condition. Unlike Anthonys, Benedicts has a Benedictine Monastery at its core and outstanding leadership from Fr. Ed Leahy, an extraordinary individual.

Sounds like a "rich kid's" school! The middle school I volunteered at for 2 years had 91% of the students receive "substantial financial aid."

I'm pretty sure virtually all of the full-pays are the sons of middle class minority (mostly Black) families residing in Newark and surrounding suburbs, all of which have failed public school systems. You see, when minorities have the where-with-all, they will reject failed public schools. (vouchers.....shhhh)

Maybe some of the full pay are the foreign born, some of whom play soccer and other sports, or are they scholarship regardless of need ?

Though not a Catholic school, like St. Benedict's, and not a high school but a middle school, as an IVC volunteer, it was a privilege working with the students and staff at Community Prep. The founder and head of the school was given an IVC "Della Strada" award for his espousing Ignatian values (yeah, he's an Irish Catholic but Brown University grad).
Here are some stats demonstrating 30+ years of success in inner city Providence:
Vital Statistics
· Independent middle school, grades three through eight
· Located in South Providence, Rhode Island
· Founded in 1984
Mission
At Community Preparatory School, we empower our diverse student body to reach full academic and leadership potential while building a Beloved Community.
Enrollment
164 students (enrollment in 1984 was 25)
47% Male / 53% Female
62% of students live in Providence
59% are children of immigrants or immigrants themselves, representing 41 countries
· 35% Latino
· 21% Bi-Racial
· 18% African-American
· 15% Caucasian
· 9% Asian
· 2% Native-American/Other
Typical class size
· 18 students
Placement
97% of Community Prep graduates have been accepted into college-preparatory high-school programs (749 graduates to date). Many have been accepted to independent schools across New England, including: Brewster, Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, Concord Academy, Cushing, Deerfield Academy, Dublin, Fryeburg, The Governor's Academy, Hebron, LaSalle, Lincoln, Milton, Miss Porter's, Moses Brown, Northfield Mt. Hermon, Phillips Academy, Pomfret, Providence Country Day, Rocky Hill School, St. Andrew's, St. George's, St. Mary Academy-Bay View, St. Raphael School, Westover School, Wheeler, Windsor and Worcester Academy. Our graduates have received more than $20 million in scholarship assistance from the schools they are attending. 83% of our college-age alumni are attending or have graduated from college.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Due to space and fiscal constraints, the school must currently turn away two out of every three applicants. However, every student who is accepted is welcome regardless of the family's ability to pay the $15,200 tuition. 91% of the students receive substantial financial aid. Every family is expected to make a reasonable contribution to their child's tuition.
80% of the school's operating budget is funded through donations; tuition covers only 20 percent. (Traditional independent schools generate 80 to 90 percent of their budgets from tuition.)

The breakdown of students at St Benedict's is as follow for 570 students in grades 7-12: Black = 51% Hispanic = 34% White = 9% Other = 6% 80% of the students receive financial aid (amounting to $2.26 million last year). The average grant is $5,460. 98% of graduates attend college! 87% of recent graduates either have graduated from college or are currently enrolled! (This is in Newark where only 12% of residents have college degrees.)

KY- Extraordinary work. That's why I direct 100% of my modest donations to them. Fortunately, recently, for the first time in 40+ years, young men in the process of becoming Benedictine monks there has picked up significantly.

I am confuised you are against the jesuit Catholicism of HC, but support young men joining the Benedictines ?
