Tempted as I was to give the thread a more provocative title...

The job description left out the ability to deal with Worcester Novembers, esp at the top of the hill at night.

I recall my classmate Mike Parise doing some PA work at football games in the 70's

NAD should do the bball. He wouldn't need amplification. I believe the final game, BU, had a new one.

My favorite college guy was the one at the Providence Civic Center for 20-25 years. Probably is no longer with us as he didn't have a very young sounding voice.

I met Zinkoff once, a very nice man.
I had him give me an autograph with my favorite* Zinkoff phrase: "That is the Quota!" which he used to say when someone fouled out.
*That and, for Wally Jones: "Wally, By Golly!"

John Condon at MSG was very good I liked his simple, yet unique style of announcing made baskets: "That was Bill Bradley.......New York leads, 40-32"........

His career seemed to run parallel with their radio/tv guy that I liked, Chris Clark. One thing about the PA guy: his announcements always seemed to be a bit delayed. You would hear "Providence College basket by Bruce Campbell" as the ball was being dribbled over half court by the other team.

NAD should do the bball. He wouldn't need amplification. Hehe, that might be fun, Sarasota.....but I'm afraid early on in my first game, I might end up announcing "Holy Cross foul on number 1, Karl Charles, his first.....and that was pathetic!! Use your GOOD eye!....team third". Don't think Nate Pine would go for that. HCFC45 would probably have a similar struggle trying to do the job.
