maybe more of a move to increase their struggling enrollment numbers (now fewer than 2000 students) but st. bonaventure is adding men's lacrosse to their athletic program, the first east coast d.1 school to add lax in quite awhle. gobonnies.sbu.edu/general/2016-17/releases/20170321n1yrqr

This makes four independents in the coming years with SBU joining Cleveland State, NJIT and Hampton with D1 programs (Hampton is still transitioning I believe - the others are full D1 right now).

Olean's snow should make for many away games until May. Also not a very desirable destination for a new conference to accept

Olean's snow should make for many away games until May. Also not a very desirable destination for a new conference to accept No different than Buffalo (Canisius) in terms of snow is it? At this point schools just plow turf. Bona needs bodies, and lacrosse opens them up to affluent males, a group they likely aren't getting many of currently.

It is a bit better. It is south of Buffalo and gets smaller "lake effect" snow totals.

Right you are...a 33" annual difference is indeed more than "a bit." I had expected it would be closer to Buffalo. The St Bonnie's campus is beautiful and they have the full support of their city.

Answer: Size 17 shoes. What is the Question? I'm guessing you're referring to St Bonaventure grad Bob Lanier--famed for his large feet in addition to his great basketball success--but I think his shoe size was in the 20's

It is rumored that he wore up to a 22 shoe size. His sneakers in the HOF in Springfield are size 19.
As to Bona lacrosse, yes, it is primarily an attempt to secure another 40 or 50 tuition paying students. I doubt whether the financial effects when all is said and done will be significant, and I wouldn't be totally surprised if they ended up negative. The MAAC is rumored to be the conference they will play in.
The number of spring games is all sports that have to be cancelled has fallen significantly over the last few years as each of the formerly grass athletic fields have been replaced with "turf", though weather is obviously still an issue. It's not really different than Hamilton in that respect, though.
