Won their 110th in a row today. I agree with Jay Bilas(very unusual) that Gabby Williams is the best all around player, male or female, in the country the most amazing thing about the streak is that Uconn has had only 3 single digit margin of victory games

Read Auriemma's autobiography. Shows respect for HC.

Cleared 6-2 1/2 to finish fourth or fifth in the trials. Would have made the team if she cleared the next height. She has improved markedly since she arrived at UConn as a great athlete but not a great basketball player.

UConn coach after ending longest win streak in basketball...Not ready??
“Maybe we’re just not ready for this. Maybe we were ready for everything else, but maybe we’re just not mature enough for this,” Auriemma said. “Maybe all our young kids needed to experience this so that we can come back and really be ready for this.”

I think his comment might best be read as never having been in a truly tight situation at the end of the game as prior to last night had only played in 3 games that were won by less than double digits. Chong, who had played well all season really choked on their last possession.

Telling stat: UConn is 0-6 all time in OT under Auriemma.

Also telling that he's only had 6 OT games in 30 plus years

Telling stat: UConn is 0-6 all time in OT under Auriemma. Another telling stat. UConn is 11-0 in NCAA championship games. This year's team massively overachieved. Lost the best three players in the nation to graduation. Had no height, no depth, and didn't have a PG in the starting lineup. They were picked for 4th or 5th preseason, and would have been lower if not for the name UConn and the fact that Auriemma was coaching the team.

Either the players did not do what Geno wanted at the end, or he did not do a good job. their last possession was disastrous Their 2 first team all-Americans played poorly. Only Gabby W, their best player by far, played up to par and she did not see the ball at the end. If they are not deep, or did not have a 1 in the starting lineup, that is Geno's fault

UConn was awful at the end of OT and regulation. Someone (Collier?) went 1-2 from the line at the end of regulation to leave the game tied instead of take the lead. Someone else went 0-2 from the line in OT. The last possession was inexplicable in a tie game. Agree with 137 that they overachieved this year. They'll win it all next year and the three years after that.
