Unless we change our approach next season, the reason to press us is there is no risk to doing so, as even if we break it we don't attack the basket and make our opponent pay for pressing. Even if a turnover is not created, the press delays our ability to start the offense and drains the shot clock.

I'm looking forward to next season. I believe CBC has recruited players who will fit his system. Overall they seem to be long, a good fit for the match-up and the 1-3-1. And it appears they all can make shots. I think Stevens is going to be a big surprise, could be a force inside. PB will work this offseason on his perimeter shooting and that will help his game. CL will fill out. The big question in my mind is how will all the pieces move together? Can the frosh understand that offensive scheme that CBC wants to run? and how many shots can the newbies make? Butler looks like a great fit at the 2/3 (CBC doesn't really have positions), and if he can fill it up from long distance, what a weapon for HC..

The press comes in many forms, like the mid court press Navy laid on us which made it difficult for our small guards to pass over them. Bucknell for one possession, turned us over and then stopped because the game was out of hand and they probably did not want to show what they might do against other teams. PB will not be able to break the press on his own consistently imho. PB and GC will need each other's help in so doing. Thus we are likely locked into 2 smallish guards again. Hard to tell how a frosh will perform. Don't know if the wings we are bringing in can help in this regard. We are all shot in the azz about the Butler kid but if he goes 3-21 against Assumption KY will have the red light up in a NY minute. We don't allow mad bombers in the PO, nor slice and dice go to the basket Russell Westbrooks. We wait until there's five seconds on the shot clock and fire away. I don't know how anyone can have great confidence in JS at this point. The guy looked so comfortable at the end of the bench with the walk-ons, as if he knew there was no chance he was getting in. KC regressed last year. He MUST have a big year for us. He will be targeted this year as our #1 offensive threat so it could be difficult for him. As bad as Ziggy played at the end he supplanted CLS as the #8 player. 1-13 from 3 for the year is a big red light from KY. JF, please develop one shot/move that works. As bbc says we need at least 2 frosh, Potter and Vicens, to appear on campus come September or it could be a long year.
KY can you give us your red light/green light projections?

I'll think carefully about the three pointer traffic light and give you a preliminary list, but you are wrong in suggesting that I would make a firm decision on a new player after one exhibition game
getting beyond just three point shooting, CLS is an interesting study. Take a look at his cumulative stats in games in which he played 5+ minutes versus those in which he got the briefest cameo. It's not just a matter of his one great game skewing the data, there's quite a contrast in those two different data sets
