Given the fact that we are yet to have a practice on our home fiel, a split with a team like Navy that's in midseason form is actually a really good sign. This Holy Cross team is going to be just fine and hopefully playing its best baseball in late April and May when it really matters.
I know there have been a few folks who have said things like "gee I thought this team was supposed to be good" after a loss to a team like Hartford, but clearly those people don't understand baseball. The mid-week non-league games are meaningless, ando serve only to get pictures some innings and set up the weekend rotation. The fact that we have been competitive thusfar against a very good schedule given the reality of this Worcester winter is a great sign.

I give the sport maybe a couple more seasons before they pull the plug....if Fitton hadn't been renovated, I doubt they'd be playing today actually. It's just not a viable D1 sport in Massachusetts given the weather and the academic calendar HC has today.

70 what do you expect? Other than the one run losses to Central Connecticut and Hartford what games should they have won with literally no outdoor practices on their field and two of their three Cape League studs hurt and missing portions of the year? The three at Auburn? Two more at USC? The other CA games vs good competition? You could make the case that maybe we should have won one or two more against Yale, but those type of weekends can occur. I don't think anyone is excited about the win-loss record at this point but if they take care of business in the Patriot league as they can and should, they will be back near .500 when all is said and done. Really expect far more out of a savvy baseball man like you.

DEAD SPORT WALKING at HC.....it really is, I love baseball but it simply doesn't fit into HC's current athletic/academic makeup......ultimately, it's just a drain on what we could be doing athletically.....

We may win the PL, but to date we have not been "competitive." 7-17 says so. How many games have you seen? I've seen four. We don't hit all that well and pitching has been mediocre. Fielding ok. King needs to get hot and White needs to get over the injury hump. Go Cross Go!

Seriously, people barely care about PL basketball and football.....PL baseball? Are you kidding me?

Hc87--- you've covered most of our sports in your postings tonight, but not all of them. However the night is still young so you still have time to make doomsday comments on volleyball, women's hockey, and rowing. I think the rest have been covered.

They have been like the fourth most successful program in New Engkand in terms of draft picks after UConn, BC, and URI since Blood went there. I would send my kid for baseball reasons to Hartford.
