ok, memorial day weekend is approaching and it is time to do some investigative work on our ooc schedule for next season. with the new era of 'leaks' coming out of d.c, we can certainly find some informants of our own inside the athletic offices at HC (or at other schools). I can only start with what we know with the emerald isle tourney in belfast dec 1-2. we play manhattan, then either lasalle or towson.

A former coach told him. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. 😊

There are at least 2 openings in the schedule since last year's "tournament" was 4 games and this year's is 2.
UMass and URI are in the middle of 2 for 1's.
Literally every other OOC opponent last year was also on the 2015-16 schedule. Of those, only Harvard, Albany, and Sacred Heart were on the schedule two years ago. Last season might have been the first year of a renewed contract, or there was a longer contract. That leaves UNH, Maine, Q, and Marist. I don;t know if they were two or four year contracts, but if two they have been completed.
Given that someone has to pay for the trip to Belfast, I wouldn't be surprised to see a guarantee game in there somewhere.

There are at least 2 openings in the schedule since last year's "tournament" was 4 games and this year's is 2. Not so. NCAA rules allow a team to play either 29 regular season games or else 27 games PLUS one qualifying multi-team event. Last year that meant HC could play 27 + 4 games = 31 games. Unless HC participates in another tournament in addition to the event in Ireland, then it will be limited to 29 total games, as opposed to last year's 31 games.

I've always wondered if HC has a Till Death Do Us Part agreement with Sacred Heart.
Normally, I'm an Anyone Anytime Anywhere kind of guy when it comes to schedules. Sometimes, though, I think you need to do what you think is best for your group. With practically a brand new team, I'm wondering if Coach Carm is going to fill the open slots accordingly.

I think we'd all agree that a $$ game against, say, Louisville or Kentucky would be ideal....

Last season there was talk that we would be playing Siena this year. Not sure if home or away. Sometimes these stories turn out to be wrong.

Probably not the best idea for a possibly freshmen dominated team

Iona is transfer U And a completely contrasting style of play compared to HC

HC should play in NYC every year.

Iona is transfer U And a completely contrasting style of play compared to HC Still a perfectly reasonable opponent. Reasonably evenly matched (depending on year), fairly easy road trip, should draw out our NYC alums. Fordham would be better, of course. But let's not get into that.
