Lost the second 13-6 Pitchers pummeled again, inc Cravero, Capen, Finan--all pitchers we need next week Reviewing the box score, looks like all 4 pitchers in game 2 were a bit overmatched. Without naming names, I was surprised one of our stronger (IMHO) relievers didn't pitch in either game. Our better hitters looked OK against Yale pitching in game 2.

Guess it was the chance we took to avoid 2 weeks of no games. We will never know.

These games meant little and results won't affect confidence. Nothing more than 2 scrimmages for two clubs whose skippers preferred live competition over mundane practices.

Most of the 1 seeds will pitch their number 2 pitcher in the opener and then in the second game toss their number 1 to get into the Championship game.

agree. I'm concerned about keeping it respectable next weekend, wherever we're playing. we only had 3 reliable senior pitchers in king, cravero and capen this season and all three had poor outings yday. let's hope we have those three in better form and others who will contribute on the mound. we wont be able to outscore our opponents.
if there was a 'play-in' round as in basketball, we'd be in it.

Uphill climb either way. Losing two scrimmages to Yale doesn't make me feel any differently about our chances. Happy we're in it but even close games will be an unexpected bonus.

Was there for the last 7 innings of Game 1. Despite the dual shellackings, don't read much into it. If anything, it will give them even more motivation next weekend. Put more trust in the body of work King, Capen, etc. have put together, at HC and on the Cape. And, it was the day after graduation, with lots of family around. Win Game 1, and anything can happen. Would love to see Yale do well, too.

The suggestion that the results of yesterday's games will somehow negatively impact the Crusaders next weekend is laughable.

We used 22 players in the first game and 17 in the second--looks like we wanted to give a lot of guys a chance to play, e.g. freshmen Jared Enders, Colton Hector, and Riley Livingston who had combined for 23 at bats before the two games but who got to play and bat versus Yale.

All the weekend series did was confirm that Yale is much better than us. Hopefully we are not in the same Regional.

When will ADNP and his coaches learn that they should consult this board before making cowboy moves like scheduling this series with Yale?

I'm already thinking ahead so when we play the number 3 seed in the second game. I don't want that to be yale.
