I was reading a Celtics blog the other day where the author said that they were probably "priced out of Muscala" after signing Hayward. File that under "things I never thought I'd read while watching Bucknell."

with these ridiculous salaries, many of which are going to guys with questionable character (guys like Muscala I do like to see succeed), count me in on college basketball more than ever

Football, probably has more questionable character guys. Major college sports have their share of questionable characters, esp coaches such as Calipari, pitino, Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh

I was reading a Celtics blog the other day where the author said that they were probably "priced out of Muscala" after signing Hayward. File that under "things I never thought I'd read while watching Bucknell." A lot of teams were priced out of a lot of players this year due to the salary cap barely moving for the 2017-18 season. Last year, a lot of players no better than Muscala got 3 years for $25 Million or 4 years for $32 Million when the cap had just risen dramatically. Muscala appears to have given the Hawks a hometown discount - likely because they have been his only pro team and because his fiance is from the Atlanta area. However in return, he has a player option for next year, so if he has a good year (and he figures to see a lot of playing time), he can go back on the market next year (or renegotiate with the Hawks) when the cap may be higher. He also has a no-trade clause for the life of the contract.

Years ago Feinstein agreed.
