Quite a Jasper jump They finished last season at 287 according to Pomeroy (HC was 215. Bucknell and Lehigh were the only PL teams in top 144) A familiar name Strzala My guess is that we do not make the 144 Bucknell will definitely make it Anyone else ? Probably BU, but unlikely anyone else

Nearly dead last in turnovers per game last year, not sure I understand this high projection after they won 10 games last year. Interesting first round game in Belfast. And then possibly LaSalle the next day

I hope the Jaspers are a bit overrated and that HC will be underrated so they can catch a few teams unprepared. After all, hope springs eternal, as is sometimes said.

Nearly dead last in turnovers per game last year, not sure I understand this high projection after they won 10 games last year. Most of the people who follow the MAAC seem to view Manhattan as a top four or five team this year. Three factors in their ranking: 1. They get back 5th year senior SG Rich Williams, who averaged 15 ppg and 6 rpg two years ago. He was picked for 2nd team All-MAAC in their preseason poll last season but then missed the year due to an injury that was originally described as "minor". If healthy, he will be their best player. 2. They return all five starters plus a few key subs. One of last year's starters will move to the bench. 3. Looks like they have a couple incoming players who will help. One of their freshmen is Patrick Strzala, who HC fans will remember. Manhattan definitely has turnover issues - but that is always the case with Masiello-coached teams. Even the two years they won the MAAC, they had very poor rankings in turnovers. However, with the exception of last year, they are always among the top teams in the nation in forcing turnovers as well.

Did someone get to the botton of the strzala decommits.l? My understanding is that HC pulled his offer.

Is the V16 a new vitamin or just another unnecessary post season tourney ? Ennema--on the all name first team with Albany projected to be in one of these silly tourneys, it looks as if Vermont will be predicted to win the AE.

I think V16 is the Vegas 16 hoops (started a year or 2 ago).....can't keep track of them all these days.
Really would love to get Vermont on the schedule.

Vermont went 16-0 in conference play last year and are even better this year. I've read one reports prediction that UVM gets to the Sweet 16. They have a kid Anthony Lamb who was Mr. Basketball out of NY that was a man last year as a freshman and is just going to get better.

Sweet 16 is quite a stretch for any AE team

Is the V16 a new vitamin or just another unnecessary post season tourney ? The Vegas 16 was the worst of the postseason events for one year (2016). It was only able to attract a field of eight mediocre teams that year and drew almost no fans. This past year, it wasn't held due to lack of interest. I don't think you will see it in 2018 either.

Although they lost two of their top six players, they return the best ones, including Lamb. But anyone who would predict them as a Sweet 16 team either is clueless or is just trying to generate some publicity.

With Fairfield having lost two of their best players via transfer, plus another to graduation, that seems like it's way too high for a team that was #204 last year and 5th in the MAAC.

I saw Fairfield at Iona last season... outplayed most of the game the Stags made a strong come back lead by Nelson to nearly steal the game... this despite Cobb being taken off the court on a gurney in the first half. Both Nelson, North Shore & Cobb, Fall River are Mass guys; wondered why I hadn't heard of them.

Had offers from UConn, Providence, Bona, Temple, Creighton, etc. Was Fairfield's second leading scorer last year. As I assume you know, he has now transferred to UMass. In total, they lost three of their top four scorers.

My next door neighbor goes to Grand Canyon--brand new model for college sports as I believe it is a for-profit school.

I was shocked when I stumbled upon them last season. Pretty cool schedule. I think they hosted Louisville.
