Of course the flip side to that might end up being "you can't consume alcohol on campus unless we sell it to you"....ergo, deliver a crushing blow to tailgating.
BU has sold beer at events for quite a while (including at Braves/Nickerson Field for football games), although I don't recall seeing it at The Roof last December.

They been selling beer at Hockey for as long as I can remember...25+ seasons including WBA when the men played there. I think the liquor license got transferred to Agganis and they needed a special one day license when the Men's hockey team played at WBA

This whole thing confuses me. I thought you couldn't sell alcohol at an on campus sporting event. The Bud Ryan room was kind of an exception because they treated it like a private club and in theory not just anyone of age could walk in and order a drink.
BU is kind of a different situation because it's not a clearly defined campus, so who's to say what is and is not an on-campus venue
Have the rules changed? or have I been mistaken all these years?

Booze is not allowed for those sitting among the bourgeois at any NCAA Championship sites only. The rest of the year schools can do whatever they want. Only exception was at the baseball & softball World Series last year - which was a "pilot program". No idea if that was continued or expanded to other sports in 2017.
