Hoops, That is a good list. I agree with your order, especially number 1.

Had Pat Whearty not been injured for a part of the regular season, the 01-02 team might have warranted serious consideration for the top 6. The overall record was 18-15, but their performance against Kansas in the NCAA tourney may have been the most impressive HC post season game in the PL era (when you consider the talent on that Jayhawk team - Drew Gooden, Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison, Keith Langford, Aaron Miles, Wayne Simien).

Good point, NAD That Kansas team was ranked #2 in the US we did lose by 11, but it was very close until the end( f...n Gooden dunk at the buzzer) The '00-01 Kentucky squad had NBA Prince and Bogans, also very strong

77-78 way way way too frustrating to be that high. Rankings based on previous season. Somehow did not even get in NIT which seemed unfair, but, then again, their most challenging games all ended up being losses

I'd give mention to 75-76 somewhere....beat Cincinnati, ranked in the Top 10, in the Rainbow Classic..won an NIT game.
Also 80-81, won an NIT game at Southern Miss. after losing out on an NCAA bid on a midcourt shot at Northeastern. Beat BC who made the Sweet Sixteen.
