We have had four or five kids over the last decade who have played in Williamsport. Pretty cool.

especially nice to get 2 lefties. Unless there is a southpaw pitcher in the frosh class, we will not even have one lefty on next year's staff (and this past year's roster had only one LHP and he was seldom used)

Rather than create a new thread, I'll just put this here as an fyi -- www.nola.com/tulane/index.ssf/2017/08/tulane_announces_its_incoming.htmlBen White is a 6'3" right-handed pitcher from Holden, Mass. He is a graduate transfer from the College of the Holy Cross, and will pursue a graduate degree in homeland security from Tulane. The St. John's High School product posted a career 4.10 ERA with 135 strikeouts in 147.2 innings at Holy Cross. Last season, he totaled 25 strikeouts in 20.1 innings across nine appearances and five starts. He has one year of eligibility remaining. Tulane will hold fall practice beginning Oct. 6.

Strange to be transferring with only one year of eligibility left and he has to sit for one.

also eligible because he missed his jr. year with arm issues ('tommy john', iirc). Only pitched 20 innings this past season so it seems he's still recovering. With all their recruits, would be amazed if Ben received a gtee for athletic aid - good for him, if he did !

Strange to be transferring with only one year of eligibility left and he has to sit for one. I think he is the 4th kid in coach D's tenure that has had this happen - it is not strange at all. When you miss a year with an injury, it doesn't make any sense to leave school for 2 semesters and then come back. This way they get to graduate with their classmates from Holy Cross and then go and do a years and work on a graduate degree. O'Brien (BC), Gomez (UCF), Kono (Duke) have all taken this route and it lets you know just how good the talent in our program is as none of those three were exactly superstars. But I digress. Dying sport. Carry on.
