Graduation is next Friday May 27 at the DCU Center due at least in part to the Hart Center renovation leaving no indoor location in the event of inclement weather. Made more sense to just plan DCU regardless of weather instead of staffing two locations.

Graduation May 27 at the DCU. Lots of posts on the old board about the "controversy" of not having it on Fitton. The Hart Center, being renovated, not available for back-up duty in case of rain. The Administration (wisely, IMO), decided they can't take a chance of no place to go if it rains, signed onto the DCU rain or shine.
Edit: 8485 obviously types (oops, "keyboards") faster than I do.

And phreek is faster than both of us.
And I'm glad to say that HC16 will make 3 generations of HC graduates in the family and my dad, who will turn 88 next month, will be there so all three generations (and at least 4 of the 8 grads) will be in attendance! Very proud!

Wow--the three generations distinction is certainly something to be proud of. Hearty congratulations to you all

Well, I guess that statement is a bit misleading. Three of the eight are my wife, her brother and uncle.
Blood relatives of my dad including him, we have members from the classes of '50, '78, '83, '85, '16 with one to go in '19.

I have to say, however, that I am not in agreement with the College about having graduation off campus. I would have preferred that schedule graduation for Fitton Field as alway and that they just spend a little money as insurance and reserve the DCU Center to use if necessary. I have to assume that a deal could have been reached for a discounted price if the place was not used (no clean up, less security, etc.)

Add my congratulations to Joe. The 8485 clan definitely have purple blood coursing through their veins. And with 100% of their offspring Crusaders, you can't beat that percentage.
I am working on my grandchildren for generation 4.
IIRC, former AD Dick Regan was generation 4 at Holy Cross but don't know anyone else with that distinction.

Good question. I honestly don't know. I thought I heard him say once that he was a 4th generation Crusader. That can be ambiguous but my impression was he was the 4th and any offspring would be 5th generation. But that could just be Irish exaggeration from kissing the Blarney Stone.
I usually clarify when I speak to people and tell them that I come from 3 generations of Crusaders and I am in the middle.

Joseph Reilly'55 was second generation. His son and daughter are graduates, and his granddaughter is a current student. Which makes generation 4.

Seems like yesterday he was freshman. Will miss seeing him playing in the band.

Can't believe they are done already.

Congrats to this year's graduates. Having lived through it twice in recent years (2012 and 2015) there are few things in life as wonderful as seeing your child graduate from Holy Cross.

Pleased to have nice conversations last night with son of 8485, daughter of Sader Fan, Fr. K and Tom at the alumni/senior reception. Great event, as always.
