In the purple box at the top of the article (right side), go to "Notes" and click on "Holy Cross." That opens the game notes and the two-deep is on page 5.
Some interesting changes from last week -- in particular, three freshmen are now shown as back-ups: OLs Jack Bowler and John Brekke, and LB Kendrick Knight.

Thanks Does it look as if any starter is too hurt to play ? I see Riley is listed, so he must be ready after leaving the Uconn game.

There is no way to tell about injuries; Coach Gilmore has demonstrated over the years that he keeps information about injuries closely guarded.
I prefer not to speculate about injuries in a public forum.

One other interesting change: Derek Mountain, on the roster as a wide receiver, is now listed as second team tight end.
He is 6-5 239

I just looked at the stats from Bucknell's game against Marist. While they won 45-6, they only had 56 rushing yards on 39 attempts. Two of their touchdowns came off of a Marist fumble and interception.
This is a game we simply have to win.

Two of their touchdowns came off of a Marist fumble and interception. This is a game we simply have to win. Bucknell has five new starters on the OL - and one of the projected starters is out with an injury - and will not run the ball effectively. Very unlikely they will score more than 17 points. The defense is good - even having lost three starters to injury. They have four returning All-PL defensive players (three 1st team) in the starting lineup but also lost a potential All-PL safety for the season. DL Abdullah Anderson was All-PL in each of his first three years. He is double-teamed on most plays - which obviously helps the numbers of his teammates up front. Bucknell for at least the 16th straight year has no 5th year players - a policy that has made Susan's job tougher. HC has a good chance to win this game. For Bucknell to win, I think it will have to be a 16-13 type of game. Or higher scoring but some HC turnovers. Bucknell has the league's best punter, who also was the FG kicker, when healthy, the past two years. Unfortunately due to hamstring issues, he is limited to punting this year - and his replacement on FG's is not as good.

Bucknell for at least the 16th straight year has no 5th year players - a policy that has made Susan's job tougher. What's the reasoning behind this? I have never been able to get a straight answer but it appears the administration is against it. They make it very hard for an athlete to enter the few graduate programs available - and they strongly discourage players from dropping out for a semester. Bucknell has had a fair amount of athletic success in various sports - but it has mostly been despite the administration, who at best is neutral. Fortunately a lot of alumni have stepped up and funded some very good athletic facilities, and they have had some good coaches who have managed to survive with fewer scholarships than other PL programs. That is somewhat true of football as well - where Bucknell historically had fewer scholarships, by a wide margin, than other PL teams. It is still true, albeit to a lesser extent, as BU has less than 60 scholarships.

That sounds a lot like HC until recently...even the injuries. Thanks for the report, Bison.

Unless things have changed at Bucknell, one thing HC doesn't have to worry about is the influence of the home crowd. My son and his friends attended Bucknell between 1997 and 2001 and never attended football games even though their frat house was only a few hundred feet from the football stadium. I recall going to an HC-Bucknell game during that time and being told by the lady who was taking tickets, "Thank you for coming." As for the game itself, it resembled a poorly-attended high-school event. Things were so quiet that I could hear an HC coach yelling at a player on the sidelines.

I only went once to Bucknell for a football game, the year we won the PL championship and lost that game. However, I had almost the identical experience with the Bucknell staff seemingly appreciative that anyone was showing up even if it was for the opposition.
However, does that mean Bucknell will have the home field advantage similar to Colgate basketball games . . . . virtually no one there and the lonely few who cheer get to hear their own echoes?

Excellent venue, nicer than Fitton, lights, turf, 1924/1989, 13,000, nice weather, small crowds, must win, worth a trip. War Department authorized this trip for me.

There is absolutely no way to be an optimist right now. I'm hopeful and will have the radio on in the back yard. This team has to learn how to win. Losing has to be unacceptable at this point.

I do think the game tomorrow will tell us a lot about the rest of the season. A loss or even a close win will not be a good sign. A win puts us in first place in the race for a championship, albeit, a looong way to go before that could happen.
I did not get the impression that the close loss to UConn was due to fatigue but rather some mistakes that caught up with us and some really bad officiating. Yeah, I would have felt a lot better had we won that game. But, again, most here thought we would get blown out from the opening kickoff. Some of our upcoming opponents, like UNH and Lehigh, may well be as good or better than UConn. We have to beat the Bucknells, Lafayettes and Georgetowns soundly to have the confidence to beat the Colgates, Fordhams and Lehighs.
Tomorrow will be a great barometer.

My UConn takeaway was that we played well in the first half while UConn struggled. They lost their very best player early in the first quarter, committed two very costly turnovers, and their quarterback was relatively ineffective - while our talented veteran quarterback was on top of his game.
Unfortunately, the game had a second half.
Once their quarterback was replaced late in the 3rd quarter, UConn scored three quick touchdowns (in 12 minutes or so). We couldn't score at all in the second half.
(While it is hard to gauge how good UConn will be this year with Shirreffs as a starting quarterback, we certainly exceeded my expectations in the first half.)
