According to the participation report six freshmen played yesterday #2- Grant Holloman #11 Josh Hicks #30 Kendrick Knight on depth chart second team #57 Jordan Jackson #68 Jack Bowler on depth chart second team # 75 John Brekke on depth chart second team Brian Foley (Clarendon Hills, IL/Hinsdale Central 6' 4" 299 lbs) is indicated as starting at right tackle. I view the fact that 3 frosh got time on the O-line as more good news than bad news but not necessarily all good.

From anyone who was there, how many of the listed 1900 were HC fans ? That is pathetic. Are there many schools with FCS level football that draw fewer for football than hoops other than Gtown, Bucknell and Nova ? HC had 247 family and 3 alums.

Just saw that the attendance was 1900. That's really, really bad on a beautiful afternoon against a conference rival coming off a big win. Yikes.

Bucknell has the league's best punter, who also was the FG kicker, when healthy, the past two years. Unfortunately due to hamstring issues, he is limited to punting this year - and his replacement on FG's is not as good.
137 - out of curiosity, is punting less of a strain on the hamstring?

I think Penn St sucks nearly all the oxygen out of Bucknell football support...particularly when the Nittany Lions are at home as they were yesterday.
It's just not really a "football school"....never really has been.

I would be shocked if there are as many as 100 people who attend a game at Bucknell and at PSU in a given year.

You're probably right...Bucknell gets decent local support for hoop but the locals just don't seem to follow Bison football it seems.
Cue bison137, but I think the combination of Bucknell not being a "football school" (playing college division football historically), no real success ovah the years, no real rival in football, remote location for many grads etc and the Penn St factor on top of that has led to a program that draws 1900 on a beautiful Septembah afternoon.
Not that other PL schools are knocking it out lately either vis a vis attendance....but Bucknell football support is akin to Colgate hoop.

That is sad to hear. Comparing any fan support to Colgate sets the bar as low as it can get without digging a hole and dropping it. I hope all the PL schools start to see an upturn in attendance...especially, of course, Holy Cross.

CTG's take on the game. Edited because I didn't read the admonition that SoV pointed out.

PP, I would read the last paragraph of the email you received which contained TG's take prior to posting here.

PP, I would read the last paragraph of the email you received which contained TG's take prior to posting here. SoV, that paragraph reads like standard signature boilerplate from a law firm. See example below. A lawyer could send me an email asking if I was free for lunch, and the boilerplate appears. I'll give CTG (Ms. Hennessy) the benefit of the doubt though, but I may synopsize the salient points. Example, "This electronic mail message and any attached files contain information intended for the exclusive use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed and may contain information that is proprietary, privileged, confidential and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law. LuAnn's, "This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential, privileged and intended solely for the use of the individual to which they are addressed. PP - that disclaimer was added a few years ago after a specific event in which information sent out to faithful was disclosed (on this board I believe). Coach's messages to that list are intended only for that list and not as a press release. Hence, if we wish to continue to receive that information, I would suggest that you don't repost, quote or otherwise disclose anything that is not "public", i.e. released to the general public via normal press avenues.

I think the Bison's football attendance problem is the 800 pound Nittany Lion. PSU's average attendance last year was 100,000+. Depending on the highway, State College is 55 or 70 miles away. Philadelphia is a three hour drive from Lewisburg, Pittsburgh three and a half. And I suspect there are few Bucknell alums living within an hour's drive of Lewisburg.
The locals show up for hoops because State College is too far in winter, and PSU hoops is what it is. PSU recently opened a new on-campus rink. Seats about 6,000. Attendance the past two years has been 105 percent of capacity.

Bucknell is a small school in the middle of nowhere. They've never gotten anyone to their football games even when they're good. It's too bad because it's a nice little stadium.

Also doesn't help that they are in a lousy League. Now, if they were to move to the New Big East or A-10, all their problems would be solved.
Oh, sorry, we are talking about football. 😉
