Best wishes for Sarasota, Southernsader, and any other Crossporters that may be affected by this storm (and their loved ones).

Not specific to this HC alum/pilot but believe I saw on the news the other day a video of a hurricane hunter plane and it had "Air Force Reserve" on the tail. Perhaps our pilot is a Navy man but now in AF reserves? I know of people who served in one arm of the armed forces but reserved in another.

Air Force has a number of modified C130s at Kessler in Mississippi to monitor hurricanes/tropical developments.

P-3's and Air Force didn't sound right... Commander Price '99 is Navy ROTC Commander and Air Force didn't sound quite right either.
Perhaps he is now a commissioned officer in NOAA. Fairly obscure branch of service. They use Navy ranks.

HC alumni on-line directory still shows him in the Navy.
Is it possible that various armed forces pilots, Navy and Air Force fly for NOAA while serving in their respective branch? I always thought astronauts, for example, remained officially in their branch while flying for civilian NASA.
