I predicted 5 wins for our very experienced squad...that may have been overly optimistic even given the sorry state of PL football.
Any chance Georgetown played this smart and we (scholarships and Luth) played this dumb? I know we need to establish a brand or something or another ....and this quest somehow justifies the enormous expen$e ...and this will somehow magically bring HC back to relevance... but is this really working?

Still, this team appears to have more talent in certain areas than some past teams Sittting at 2-3 right now. The next three games are Monmouth (3-0 v Patriot League this year), Yale (destroyed all three of their oponents so far including Lehigh and Fordham) and Colgate. Don't see too many victories there. Then we have Georgetown, Fordham, Lehigh. I'd be happy with three wins total out of those six games. Bringing us to five for the season. I definitely agree we are far more experienced and certainly more talented than we have been in the recent past. And we graduate much of that experience and talent.

Could they have been stealing our signs?
I suggest Nate Pine call the plays next week.

after 5 weeks, facts that are pretty obvious = all 7 teams have losing records = thanks to colgate's win over cornell, we're in the win column vs. ivies - overall 1-6 = vs. '40 schollie nec' schools, we are 2-3

I posted on another thread that the non scholarship Pioneer League has three teams ranked higher than the highest ranked Patriot League team: www.compughterratings.com/FCS/rankings

It is a league that does not emphasize athletics. Every now and then you'll get a team that over-achieves outside the league. The 7 football schools have chosen to isolate themselves in a way which is impossible to consistently compete. The problem goes far beyond coaches offices and AD offices. You either want to play Division 1 football or you don't. There are plenty of excellent academic schools that are more than competitive on the national stage. The Patriot League has no desire to be competitive. They are on their way to becoming a weak Ivy League whose champion get pumped in the playoffs and can't play a home game.

Change "athletics" to "football" and I completely concur.

If the PL is emphasizing a sport they are doing a really crappy job.

Are the patriot league teams just getting the same players they would have recruited anyway?

Are the patriot league teams just getting the same players they would have recruited anyway? A legitimate question. Looking at the pother offers these players have received and the school from whom they received interest) I would say no.
