The only comp in terms of size, academic excellence, and athletic ambition seems to be Davidson. Is its approach a legitimate model to emulate? sure it is let's get going

Yes I would be surprised Few is a class act. This whole thing is far bigger than the head coach(es) and I think you know that.

In the ranks of repetitive posters/themes, nht's "Gonzaga of the East" falls only behind IHoop's "Gilmore needs to go" in terms of tiredness.

And "We need to get Rashard Wack on campus. FWIW. Imho."

Re: Davidson as the model to emulate, here are some key differences:
Davidson has wrestling , Holy Cross does not
Holy Cross has Men's lacrosse, ice hockey, and rowing--Davidson does not Holy Cross has Women's golf, ice hockey, rowing, and softball--Davidson does not.
To me, one other key difference is that Davidson has, arguably, the worst football program in Division-1. Davidson makes Georgetown or Columbia look like SEC schools.
2012 #244 of 246 D-1 schools per Sagarin 2013 252 of 252 2014 252 of 252 2015 253 of 253 2016 252 of 253

Being the alma mater of Steph Curry helps too.

But that one is a little different in that it can't be pinned on just one poster.

We think small, like a small college. We have the most impressive indoor football training facility in New England. Actually, UCONN's has 20,000 more square feet---full 120 yard field you need for football, soccer and lax and a higher roof (much less important.)

I get it Ray et al.
How have the other plans of the last 40 years worked out? Looking up at Bucknell who, before the saintly JEB and his retreat, would have alternated with Assumption as the Nov 26 game.
Are you happy with the last four decades? Happy with only the "almosts" to celebrate? I'm not.

We could have been in the Big East but let's settle on becoming the "Gonzaga of the East"....and while we're at it, Gilmore has to go.

Ok, I'm just being a wise guy, but even if we did move to the BE 40 years ago, we may still have lost to Bucknell had we played them OOC - see Bucknell at Pitt, Bucknell at Syracuse.

Kyle Foreman will not "increase his scoring and his assists" for BU, since he won't be playing at all. I guess these guys didn't get the memo.

Hopefully we can surpass these very low expectations That is a low bar (not much room below it) and I believe our young team can and will clear it to surprise some by the conference tournament.

HC, according to the review, has a height problem in that the team has only 4 players at 6-8 or taller. We may have a height issue but this stat seems silly to me in that while Lehigh has 5 players 6-8 or taller, Bucknell and Colgate have 4, and Boston U only 3. I didn't check the other teams, but it seems clear that the count of 4 @6-8 or taller isn't unusual. Of course, height can be a factor at back court positions too.....
