I have no problem with what it actually says, but what it implies for the future may be a bit troubling. If it is decided to abandon tradition and the Crusader, perhaps we can have velcro names of annual mascots/monikers attached to HC uniforms. That way any individual of group who a current name offends can add a preferred name to the list for a designated time frame in the future.

interesting except for the actual teams/sports, eg staffing & scheduling, it looks like most of the AD functions reside in this position

Arizona kid...probably a case of wanting to go home again. Looks like he has been NP's right hand man for awhile (Cal, Maryland)

Do all of you realize that’s the boilerplate opening paragraph for every job opening at the college and has been for a year or two and so doesn’t represent anything specific with respect to this position vs. any other the college is looking to fill?

Yes...but that does not mean it is not significant, does it?

I have dealt with Joe in passing through the years. He is a big loss to the college and a class act all around. He will do a fantastic job in Arizona when he leaves.

Yes...but that does not mean it is not significant, does it? It means it is no more significant to this position than any other at the college, which seems to be the implication of Pakachoag Phreek's post that pointed it out.

I called attention to it because the college seeks to be more inclusionary, and that has implications for other great issues of the moment. Here is the job announcement for the Director of the Crusader Athletic Fund, with the boilerplate. (This is Heather Palmer's old job.) holycross.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=87653Somewhat atypical, there are several performance metrics, albeit weak ones.
