LOL It's funny but the high school kids I work now with have no idea HC and BC were, a long time ago, academic and football rivals. They think of BU-BC or BC-ND as rivals
College Game Day live from BC would be kind of a neat history lesson and draw more fans to the stadium. I have no idea what size crowd will show up. Not sure I'd want the game regionally televised on ESPN for obvious reasons (could be very lopsided).

HC is a higher ranked school as to academics (89 v. 87) (per Princeton Review) 2. HC has more interesting (89 v.83) and more accessible (93 v. 91) professors(ditto) 3. HC has slightly better ranking as to financial aid (93 v. 92) (ditto) 4. HC alums outgive BC alums 45% to 20% www.forbes.com/sites/schifrin/2016/07/06/2016-grateful-grad-colleges-the-top-200-show-me-the-money-schools/#8b544534f0edetc. I know there are stats that go the other way as well, but I think that it important to not allow your young charges to harbor the gross misconception that that school in Chestnut Hill is worth their time.

Unfortunately alum, the biggest difference is that most young people know that BC exists.

Unfortunately alum, the biggest difference is that most young people know that BC exists. I don't doubt that and I have expressed dismay that admissions doesn't engage in the outreach that would improve that situation. I don't want to take this thread far afield so I will end my comments here. I was only tweaking hcpride because he has regularly told us that the young people with whom he works barely know that HC exists and I want him to fight this ignorance as best he can.

Unfortunately alum, the biggest difference is that most young people know that BC exists. Absolutely they do know BC exists. You cannot have the overwhelming terrible record that BC has recently had in ACC football and basketball and not become a widespread (and well known) joke.

The kids applying the usual ND-BC-Georgetown aren't too familiar with HC and I am not sure they believe me when I tell them we were once rivals with BC in terms of academics and sports. When they hear a rivalry with BC, they think BU or ND.
College Game Day at BC/HC might help.
They (the students and their parents) certainly have all the relevant academic stats at their fingertips...and Naviance is just a click away. Around here nowadays, Villanova and Fordham are usually next on the list for kids looking at the top Catholic colleges. I don't take it personally.
It might comfort you to know that for the academic kids Villanova is making inroads on BC as of late and in my limited sample size.

'Nova was not in our zip code 20 years ago
If HC was a company the entire Board would be (would have been) fired.
