I think one of the telling things pointed out by Bill Simmons is absurdity that EA Sports is now using NBA players to market the game for Madden. It's bad when the NFL doesn't have up-and-coming stars that are marketable enough for the football video game and is using Chris Paul and James Harden instead. Besides all the other issues the NFL has, its social media has been terrible compared to the NBA and they are suffering for it with younger generations.

1) The product is poor for seemingly at least 3/4 of the games, and it's become pretty rare to get even one good game during the out-of-market portions of Sunday afternoon on CBS & Fox. The idea that it's only the Thursday night games that stink is a distraction from the fact that the majority of the games have become tough to watch.
2) The National Anthem protests have become a huge distraction and I can see how it turns away casual fans who have no interest in people constantly jamming politics down their throat.

Shouldn't you at least consider changing your moniker to "Brooks-Mulledy98"? I kid, I kid!

Fantasy football isn’t helping viewership of the actual games or allegiance to the hometown team. My kids have no interest in watching a full Giants game in the regular season but they’d watch NFL Red Zone from 1:00 until the TD montage at 7:30 if we let them.

Every time I tune in to an NFL game (rarely) I'm quickly reminded that the actual playing time for an entire game is around 15 minutes

The nfl's draft is supposed to even the playing field and encourage parity. but this year (like many, imo) there are simply so many bad teams. I turned on the jets-tampa bay game yday for a minute and that product just sucks. anyone who paid to see that cannot possibly feel satisfied. I hope viewership continues to fall
once again the college game offers much more entertainment for this fan

I no longer find any interest in the NFL (of course, the quality - or total lack thereof - of the NY teams plays a role here as well).
