I for one am about done with all the Former Coach Brown references and comments. I don't speak for the board, but I suspect others feel the same. People are complaining about Tom Gilmore mentions already, and here it is, 3 years now, and still we can't go of the former hoops coach. He's never brought it up himself publicly - I wish we could do the same. And I am not speaking about something like following Mitch Hahn; he is a former Holy Cross basketball player. There's no reason why interested folks can't talk about his career without mentioning the name of FCMB.
But - if others feel it's still relevant and fair game, how bout dumping it in one thread, like, here? That way, if we are not interested (and I don't plan on visiting this thread once I hit the Send button), we can easily avoid it.
And by the way - while ncaam clearly initiated the latest round with his comments on the transfer thread, there are many of instances of other posters either trying to bait ncaam into bringing up the subject, or just plain old mocking him. That doesn't help.
If Dean Wormer wants to take this down, fine; I just feel it's about time to move on. Carry on.

Only one correction: I think you do speak for the board on this issue.....

Well reasoned points NAD, but when the implication inherently in all these posts by 70 is "gee, look what we could have had if only Pine had kept Brown around", then how shall we live. Listen, it is no secret many people needle the poster formerly known as HC70, my self among them (guilty as charged), but that comes with a message board...he makes inane comments, we respond. We make a passing reference, and we're birddogging him. Anyway, not that you do not have good points, but the anti-Carmody and Pine crowd re: basketball simply will not stop with their drivel until Milan is back, and that is not happening.
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers.

NAD, as always, the voice of reason.
Or, as was the old and frequent comment, you “nailed it.”

NAD - No reason to delete. You are correct.
And to half dozen or so of you out there for whom this post was created - Please, start acting like adults.
"Milan Brown couldn't coach ... Nate Pine is all show ... I was right, about XXXX you were wrong ... the comment could not go unchallenged ... he hit me first ... well my father can beat up your father ..."
The VAST majority of posters are tired of it and I'm tired of dealing with it.
- Milan Brown was fired almost 3 years ago. We're into our 3rd season without him. Let it go. Stop posting about what might have been. - Every criticism of Bill Carmody or Nate Pine does not have to revert to well he's better than the former guy. Post about where we are not where we were. - Every time a former player (or worse a player we may have been recruiting who decided Holy Cross was not the place for them) has a good game, it does not have to be posted on - particularly in the middle of another thread. Post about the player we have not the ones somewhere else.
It's all nuts and petty. We all left kinderegarten some time ago. Grow up or find someplace else to post.

Since he's not a "former Holy Cross basketball player" per NAD, I will utilize this new thread to mention that Jahaad Proctor scored 28 points in HIgh Points season-opening 100-66 win over William & Mary,
No, I really don't care to follow Proctor's career since he spent zero minutes and zero seconds as a Holy Cross student. But, I have family ties to William & Mary athletics and just happened to open up the box score and notice this performance. That is all.

I was at the Lehigh football game yesterday and a former poster and huge basketball fan leaned over and asked me how Kostecka did yesterday. We were talking about LU/Northwestern. I didn’t know so we looked it up. Voila. 22 points, nice game. This is a kid we left out in the cold. As I’m driving home a knowledgeable poster calls me and says do you know how Proctor did last night versus William and Mary? I said I do not, pray tell how did he do? He scored 28 points. Wow! He’s a kid who was signed sealed and delivered at holy cross. I think he and Mitch and kostecka are worth talking about. Milan brown? He’s gone. It’s dead ahead with CBC But it hurts no one to talk about those players CBC had a shot at but decided to go in another direction.

Why?

Because there are more people interested in those players than are interested in the holy cross Colorado State game I posted on that happened 55 years ago.

True, but there are probably fewer people that are more interested in those players than they are about the CURRENT HC players. I do not care if you don't play here, no matter the circumstances. I would find it interesting if a player put up, say, 200 points in a D1 game, or was able to dunk from midcourt. However, I would care if any player did that, not just one who almost played at HC. Them almost playing at HC is similar to you being almost banned from this message board.

High Point plays non-DI Toccoa Falls College this year, who lost to Appalachian State by over 100 points. So that may be Proctor's chance to catch your attention.

Toccoa Falls does not overemphasize athletics in that it sponsors three sports each for men and women. The Screaming Eagles have started the season 0-5 and have given up 108 or more points in each game. There are two players over 6-4: one is 6-5, the other 7-0.

Stop the nonsense

I have said it since the mid 00s, and continue to say it now. I am not jazzed up particularly about any win over the SHU-box except that I have bragging rights over my brother who went there.
Separately and at the risk of sounding contradictory, I am happy about-- and root for-- ALL Holy Cross wins.
My point is not that I am too good to care about other programs, or that HC Athletics renders all other topics moot. My point is that on a Holy Cross Athletics forum, we shouldn't keep tracking players that don't play here, and have no link to the school, to see that they drop 18 points and had two steals.
You are not bringing them up because you genuinely care about those non-HC players, or that they have accomplished some incredible feat. You are bringing them up to further an agenda that attempts to bolster your own viewpoint and discredit others. Namely, that MB was JesusCoach, and RW and NP and CBC are buffoons.
And my other point of the post was that you were banned from the board for this nonsense and are still referred to tongue-and-cheek as the very person you will not deny being... and continue to sling this BS around.
