Final record might be similar to 72-73 this season, but if our freshmen are headed in the right direction for their junior and senior years like the class of 76 (20-8; and 22-10; followed by 23-6 post graduation) this year might be remembered as the season for growth, development and a new identity.

Hope you're right but I don't think any Potter, Vicens or Perry will be joining this group.

I guess it is a comfort that although we are not close to the northeast power we were 45 years ago, we can get a few wins in the Patriot League. Lafayette looks dreadful this year (IMHO).

Yes, Lafayette is very bad. But, they are ranked ahead of us in Pomeroy. American, HC, Lafayette, and Loyola are all bad basketball teams.

SOV curious about your view of the team at this point. If I'm not mistaken you thought this years team would be as good or better than last year. What has changed your opinion, Charles poor play or freshmen not being as good as you thought, don't think it was realistic to think rebounding and defense would improve substituting freshmen for seniors?

I am disappointed in Carmody more than any of the players.
Charles hasn't been the player we all were hoping for as a junior, but I'm willing to give him a pass if he really has been playing hurt for most of the season.
The freshmen, by and large, have been pretty ggood, albeit inconsistent.
I'm expecting more from Carmody.

Yes, Lafayette is very bad. But, they are ranked ahead of us in Pomeroy. American, HC, Lafayette, and Loyola are all bad basketball teams. Loyola may turn out to be better than they have looked, having gone through a really bad run of injuries. - Lost All-PL PG Andre Walker for 3 games. - Lost starter Andrew Kostecka for a number of games. - Lost starter Chuck Champion for the first 5 games. Champion is averaging over 17 ppg since his return. - Lost Jame Fives, who had started in Champion's place. - Lost freshman Brent Holcomb, who had been averaging 18 mpg. - Didn't have freshman River Reed for the first 7 games. He is averaging over 20 mpg since his return. - Lost starter Chancellor Barnard for the year due to a torn pectoral muscle. Barnard isn't coming back this year - but if everyone else on the above list gets healthy, I think Loyola is a middle-of-the-pack team who could surprise some of the better teams.
