Speaking of Gordie, does anyone have a valid link to his 30 for 30? The one I find at ESPN.com doesn’t work.

1. Would that be a higher percentage than the alums that refer to HC that way? 2. Who are the "monitors?" Me yes love it

Pinned means the tweet remains at the top of his tweets, and does not drop down in the sequence as new tweets are authored.

In looking at the 247 Sports list of Holy Cross offers today, a new name has been added -- DB Joey Velazquez, 6-0, 205, St. Francis de Sales HS, Columbus, OH. Checking his Twitter account, there is no mention of a Holy Cross offer. Upon further checking other internet sources, it appears that he has already committed to Ohio State for baseball, but has recently been offered by Michigan (as well as Indiana and Kent State) for football. Given the circumstances -- especially the lack of any mention of a Holy Cross offer on his Twitter account -- I'm not going to include him on the list of HC offers.

From Pro Football Weekly on day 2/3 prospects:
Quarterback: Peter Pujals
Team: Baltimore Ravens
Offensive Scheme; Hybrid West Coast
Peter Pujals might not be a household name, but the quarterback from Holy Cross is an extremely experienced passer that flashed some tools that could be enticing to a team like the Baltimore Ravens. Pujals was a five-year starter at quarterback for the Crusaders (you read that right, more on that in a second) and the first four-year captain in school history. Early in his senior season he suffered a broken leg, which ended his season, but he was able to return for one more collegiate campaign. He earned a berth to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, where he played alongside some other draft quarterbacks such as Austin Allen, Kenny Hill and the previously-mentioned Woodside.
One thing that stands out watching Pujals is his processing speed, which you can see on this go/flat concept:
Here, Pujals is reading the concept to the left side of the formation, and he has to decide in an instant where to throw — either the go route or the flat route. The cornerback to that side initially drops but then breaks on that flat route, perhaps as part of a Cover 2 trap coverage. Without missing a beat, Pujals throws the vertical route with precision placement.
Here's Joe Flacco running a similar concept in London against Jacksonville:
Flacco actually places this pass pretty well, but Jeremy Maclin cannot complete the catch and the tipped pass is intercepted.
For an offense like Baltimore's, which is rooted in West Coast concepts requiring quick decisions but also vertical shots at times, Pujals is a nice fit. With Flacco, Josh Woodrum and the newly-acquired Robert Griffin III on the roster, the Ravens might not use draft capital on a quarterback, but if they want to add a player as an UDFA, Pujals is the ideal candidate.

It's nice to see the # of recruits being contacted and offered. But given how impressive Chesney's energy and enthusiasm translates into positive first impressions, it's very important that he gets face to face meets with as many of these kids as possible. On campus camps help in getting groups of recruits together but many of these kids live far away from HC. In home visits are most effective but Chesney can't get to everyone.
Right now Chesney's box of primary sales tools are pretty much limited to himself, the LAC and the road games upcoming with BC, Syracuse and Navy. Academics may come up with a few kids/families but that info is readily available on the net as it is with our competition.

He also has assistant coaches who develop much stronger relationships than head coaches, especially for priority recruits. And academics will come up in all conversations. The kids that we are recruiting (and especially their families) are concerned with the whole package, and will not just be won over because we have an indoor practice field.

Never underestimate the value of good assistants, especially in the task of recruiting. I have to agree with bbc. Chesney is a dynamo and makes a great impression, but this cannot be a one man show. That was why he chose his assistants carefully...and why we lost out on one of them to the NFL!
I believe the Chesney coaching team will help HC's athletic recovery and the college's journey back to having a relevant team.
