For a sport that has its games taking way too long this doesn’t seem to help.

it would most likely help only to possibly avoid extra innings

Very hard to believe this is really under consideration. More likely some anonymous exec was joking.

Artificial turf was a joke and the designated hitter an abomination. This proposal would take idiocy to a whole new level. It should be immediately relegated to the ash heap of moronic ideas

Kentucky, let's please use snowflake-approved analogies.

Kentucky, let's please use snowflake-approved analogies. I believe that Ky did not intend to offend, but if strangled babies are your cup of tea, I’ll be a snowflake any day

I could see if you said both teams can choose a spot in the lineup to start the 9th inning...but not one team.

The change would be that if a team were trailing when entering the ninth, they could send out to the plate whomever they’d like.
No mention of once per inning
So, for example. . .
Trailing by one going into the bottom of the 9th with 7, 8, and 9 hitters due up. Instead of #7, I send up Ted Williams. He singles. I send in a pinch runner and put Ted back to the plate. He strikes out (goes without saying ump blew the call). I send Ted back up. Sends a shot to the warning track for a loud second out. Ted heads to the plate again - for his 4th consecutive at bat. Having just seen a dozen or so pitches from a premier closer, he hits a bomb off the red seat for a walk off home run.
How could anyone call this a farce?
