Pretty cool. I think he traveled on the catch. 😃 I wish I could see this in slow motion--could not tell if he took 6 or 8 steps.....

The second angle shows he dribbled after the catch, and only takes 2 steps before he shoots. It's an absolutely incredible play.

Just heard that the kid who made the shot is recruited to play quarterback at Marist

Why would the inbounder heave the ball down court like that? 5 second count winding down, so figure you throw it down the court like that in the hopes that... nobody catches it? He could have aimed at somebody's feet and threw it as hard as he can and hope for a weird bounce. No timeouts left?

That is what Louisville could have done in the game the Cardinals gave away to Virginia the other day.

First time I saw it, I said "travel". Second time I said "oh, I think he let the ball go when he caught it; that consitutes a dribble, and that's ok.
Third time I saw it, it was a reverse angle. Definitely a travel. Ball was let go, yes, but not before he had possession and took and extra step or two.
As far as throwing it deep; I think he did the right thing. Threw it deep enough and in such a way that the guy had to catch it running away from the basket. And not too deep that it went out of bounds untouched, then it goes back to the spot of the throw.

The inbounder had 2 teammates wide open right in front of him. Go the safe route throwing long also risks throwing the ball out of bounds without touching anyone, thus giving the ball back under the offense team’s hoop,

Go the safe route throwing long also risks throwing the ball out of bounds without touching anyone, thus giving the ball back under the offense team’s hoop, Oh, jeez. Was watching the pass and the travel to even look. No reason to throw it deep in those circumstances. Reminds me of the Harvard/Yale football tie in 1968. There was a show on it a few years ago that no doubt will be replayed this year, the 50th anniversary. Was pretty sure it was a Yale guy that said "well, if we didn't mess up no one would remember the game at this point".
