Another one. HC should have been the first, in my opinion.
So honestly, when does HC get to play at Fenway?

I think it's just a logistical thing. The earliest you could schedule a football game in Fenway would be around November 15 or so now that the end of the baseball playoffs extend to Halloween or even slightly beyond. Fenway is going to want two New England teams in order to maximize revenue. Four of the five college games at Fenway involve two New England football teams (BC-UConn, UMass-Maine, Brown-Dartmouth, Harvard-Yale). The 5th was BC-Notre Dame which was a guaranteed sellout. Because HC is playing non-New England conference opponents in late November, all of whom are a 4-5+ drive away, they are out of luck. Fenway Sports is not interested in a Holy Cross-Fordham or Holy Cross-Colgate matchup in late November.

Best would be to schedule UNH late....great game for Fenway.

I agree that HC/UNH would be a good draw, but if HC vs Fordham worked at Yankee Stadium, why not Fenway?

Good question....it might but I'm not sure the Fordham crowd is as attracted to Boston/Fenway as HC alums were for a weekend in Manhattan/YS. The FCS games didn't draw that well in Fenway last year...possibly due to the weather but also probably to general disinterest in Ivy or CAA football in NE these days outside of Harvard-Yale or maybe Harvard-Dartmouth.

Harvard Stadium renovations have a lot to do with the game being switched. I assume that they are closing off sections of the place this fall and seating capacity is therefore reduced. Only thing in that regard that makes sense.
Ironically it's the 50th anniversary of the most famous game ever played there, Harvard's 29-29 "Win" in 1968.

No excuse for HC to not be on the top of the list. The reasons against are weak. It can be done if there is motivation to do so. Excellent marketing opportunity and chance to re-energize the Boston alumni.

Anyone who thinks HC vs anyone in 2018 should be played at Fenway ahead of Yale-Harvard is riding shotgun in 87's time capsule.

Anyone who thinks HC vs anyone in 2018 should be played at Fenway ahead of Yale-Harvard is riding shotgun in 87's time capsule. It’s not one or the other. Two games were played last year on back to back weekends. Some of those big name teams? Maine, Mass, Dartmouth, Brown. Holy Cross should be in the mix. You don’t need a time capsule for that.

Perhaps HC needs to earn back the right to be in such a game at Fenway. Let's hope that can happen soon.

Our home game (in the Bronx) and (unofficially) HC put up more money and had the contacts to get it done. Do we have similar contacts at Fenway?

Thought we had more contacts at Fenway than Yankee. I don't think contacts at Yankee Stadium had anything to do with it. From what I have read on this board, we paid $650,000 to rent the place and turned a profit. It was a business decision. On the other hand, I recall reading last year that the UCONN-BC game was the property of Mr. Henry and his gang. It was UCONN's home game so they received $1.25 million while BC was paid nothing. collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/01/12/uconn-moves-2017-football-game-against-boston-college-to-fenway-park/
