You're not going to believe this, but Villanova's total this year was......15

And Brown was 39...a smackdown of Princeton and Harvard at 25 and 24 respectively. Rutgers matched us with 14.

How many students does each of those school have? I believe our "per-capita" number was the highest. No?

Comparatively few students nationwide are interested in Fulbright (so per capita might be a somewhat meaningless stat in any case ) but you could look at applicants vs awardees (those are the only two numbers provided in the announcement) to compare if you wanted to I guess. Roanoke College in our particular category had 8 apply and 6 were accepted. University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in another category of schools had 47 apply and 15 selected. www.chronicle.com/article/top-producers-of-fulbright/242557

Brown had the same exact number of applicants as fellow-Ivy Harvard (118) and far more awardees (39 v 24). I'd guess that pleases Brown's admins (to the extent anyone cares about Fulbright student applicants/awardees).

Hcpride--Do you care about it? The Fulbright programs (and there are several) send Americans abroad and bring foreign scholars to the United States. As Senator Fulbright wrote, "Educational exchange can turn nations into people, contributing as no other form of communication can to the humanizing of international relations." That young American college graduates have the chance to live, work, study, and share the American story abroad is a great opportunity for them and helps dispel images of ugly Americans throughout the world. If Holy Cross is true to its mission of educating men and women for others, promoting this program is important. My wife has worked on the faculty side of the Fulbright programs, both working with professors who want to go abroad and with some who wanted to come to her institution. Those are far fewer in number and highly coveted.

Brown published an article that this year's crop (39 in number) was the second consecutive year they led the entire nation in Fulbright winners: news.brown.edu/articles/2018/02/fulbright

While I am confident that most 17 year olds are not focused on Fulbrights, you will never find one who did not want to attend a college because it had a good record getting these awards. I am waiting for you to be happy about something that happens at HC. It does not seem to have happened in a while.

pride, no one needs to be a "stalker" here. You have posted numerous items on Crossports since you joined and your bent is to downplay positivitiy about almost anything related to Holy Cross and, for some reason, extol the virtues of Villanova.
I am not a stalker either but re-read your own posts and show us where you have actually shown "hcpride" that is not actually hollow praise.
