So a young coach who is a "go-getter" and is liked and respected by his athletes is desirable in some sports (where the age of older coaches is frequently brought up as a negative), but it is a negative here where more "age" seems to make a person better? I guess I am just too old to figure out the relative importance of age - except to reinforce a preexisting bias against the person or persons making the hiring decision.

Age dictates experience to a certain degree. Especially in coaching/recruiting/network. 26 is inexperienced.

If that is the case why did some decry the age of our basketball coach - from day one? They also say we need "young" coaches (their words).

Interim coach tag definitely not ideal at all. Only way to give Pine the benefit of the doubt is that the timing of our ability to move on from the former coach was out of his hands and he feels the hindrance of the interim tag this year will be outweighed by the superiority of the permanent coach he’ll be able to bring in at the end of next season versus who he could have gotten now. Time will tell but this is definitely not helping the program in the short term.

Aren’t there like 55 D1 lax teams? Something tells me that this is somewhat of a desirable position just due to supply and demand. The fact we landed on a 26 year old is dumbfounding. Is this position like $80k? Yea but some D-3 jobs are more desirable than D-1.

So the straw man is that if one thinks that a 64 year old coach with a stubborn style/personality is not the right age/fit for a program in need of a total re-boot, they could not also think that 26 years old with 3 years of D1 coaching is possibly too young? There is no middle ground between 64 and 26?

The players campaigned hard for this guy. Maybe his assistant(s) has been chosen, but not released yet. ?

Judd has joined the Boston University coaching staff as a Volunteer Assistant. Announced as an assistant at BU before an announcement from HC that he was fired/resigned/departing? Why?

That is a good start. Not sure that has happened before. It was incredibly hot and humid yesterday as well. Good job lax boys, keep up the hard work.
