Never going to Hamilton again. At least, not on purpose.

Never going to Hamilton again. At least, not on purpose. I'm still cold from 2008.

Having lived in the area 9 winters, it was not the weather . . . . it's the results that will keep me away.

The one HC/Colgate football game I went to was in 1990, last game of season
Game temperature was 38 and raw.
Had the game been in Worcester, the temperature would have been in the 60s or 70s, which sadly was the temperature in Hamilton the day before the game.
Andy Kerr was a mudhole that was not remedied for another 10-15 years.

Would like to go. I suspect the kids’ schedules won’t permit it but I will remain optimistic until I know for sure.

It's a picturesque area of NY, if not middle-of-nowhere-ish. I drove up there senior year of high school for a visit and remember it just being an interminable drive. I won't be in attendance for this game, but would love HC to get the jump on our most recent PL rival early in the season and perhaps catch them off-guard.

The only reason Hamilton is a semi-attractive trip for me is that we could also hit Cooperstown the day before or after. Interminable is a good word for that drive.

Will be at my nephew's wedding in Wausau, WI. Though a decent sized town - I suspect the 3 hour drive from Milwaukee to Wausau will be eerily similar to the trip to Hamiton, so I'll be there in spirit!

Haven't been since '86...I think Kerr has changed a bit since then from what I've seen online. Pretty area but I'll stick to the Southcoast for one last Summah weekend and watch on PLTV (is it being televised anywhere?)

Would go if it wasn't the week before BC. And I'm going back to Boston the week after THAT for a bachelor party -- so will enjoy watching Chesney's debut from my couch.

Consider going a couple of days early and enjoying Milwaukee, a great town---lots to do there. Your wedding should be a blast as Wisconsinites have a great zest for life; they are always ready to have a good time behind the Cheddar Curtain.

Unfortunately our travel plans are already made and work schedules prohibited much down time that weekend. We may be able to spend some time in Milwaukee Sunday afternoon after the Saturday wedding. And when it comes to having a good time - whether behind a curtain, cheddar or otherwise, or not - when my 10 brothers & sisters and our spouses get together, we can have fun with the best of them! Just the sheer number of us will get their cheeseheads spinning!

Looks quite attractive on TV and in photos. When you went there the place was such an embarrassment that the picture they had in the HC press guide* was not of the stadium but of the press box...and the press box looked like #@*&$~! too. *the same press guide had a picture of Lehigh's place...it was a photo after someone (Lafayette kids?) played a prank and painted "50" on each 10 yard stripe. Welcome to the Colonial League!

November 16, 1990 in Hamilton it was 70 in the afternoon, (source www.wunderground.com/history/ ….if you want to find out how cold it REALLY was at that Syracuse game in '73, look here!) November 17 was 40 at game time. The Woo I'm a tad off on, it was 55 on November 17 ...although you must admit that if someone told you the temp would be 55 on that date you'd take it.

I was there--Parents Weekend I believe, and I recall my father expressing his thoughts that it was insanity to stay and watch the game. We stayed. I always capture the essence of the game by stating that the temperature and the scores of the two teams did not add up to 10.....

I took in the HC game there way back in November 1991 with my young son who had wanted to see Cooperstown. Which we did the day before. It started snowing in the second quarter and, having a long drive back to Delaware ahead of us, we bailed.
Yeah, Hamilton is in a very, very remote location and the drive can seem to last forever. The upside is that there are lots and lots of cool things to do in town. Not...at least not then. How Colgate manages to attract quality students and athletes to such an unappealing (at least to me) venue has always been something of a puzzle to me.

Was there as well....Mom took my sister and younger brothers to Hogan at halftime as my Dad and I stuck it out to the bittah (pun intended) end.
