Perhaps a bit more "realistic" than simply negative. Of course, saying that PP's 100 "career" TDs need to be replaced makes it seem as though that needs to happen this season when it does not, since it is a 4+ year total. It does show how daunting the start of the season may be for HC and our new head coach.

I'll compromise with the purple tops/bottoms and the gray helmets. But the combo of the gray with the purple numbers and horrendous font - ugh. Also makes scoring the game a nightmare for those in the pressbox.

The coolest Unis that I can remember were the purple tops and helmets and silver pants with purple and white strips from the Lockbaum era. Numbers were on the helmet and shoulder pads.

Bring it back and move on. Also get shirts that fit. Looking at the media pictures they don’t even fit without shoulder pads. I’ve heard first hand that the lineman in particular are not fans of wearing spider man outfits. Loosen it up a bit. Ditch the gray; no one likes it.

Speaking as someone whose attendance usually brings the average age of a crowd up, while I understand that the players might like the gray uniforms with purple numerals (they are kind of cool), it makes the numbers very difficult to read. Shouldn't have to strain or use binoculars to see the distinction between a "3" and an "8" or a "9." But maybe it is less the colors and more the font?
FWIW, the worst uniforms have consistently been Colgate basketball and football not much better. Looks like they were bought at the dollar store.

I don't give rat's ass what uniforms are worn as long as the team wins.

The third football uniform option for Adidas sponsored teams is gray. The uniforms are provided to HC gratis as part of the long term sponsorship agreement with Adidas: uniforms.adicustom.com/football/#!/jersey uniforms.adicustom.com/football/#!/pant For sports other than Football, the third option can be either gray or black depending upon the sport. For example HC softball. For Nike sponsored football schools such as Dartmouth and Stanford, the third option is black. The University of Oregon is the exception with a multitude of options that go beyond three sets of uniform kits for football. niketeam.nike.com/en/en_US/nts/gridwall/M/Football/118/?sort=rowNumber|descHope this clarifies why HC has a gray set for option 3.

With you on the unis, but hated the numbers on the helmets The Carter/Duffner era uniforms I believe were provided by Champion, which is no longer a major supplier for FBS, or FCS teams. The big three are Nike, Adidas and Under Amour. The closest a current football team comes to the Carter/Duffner era is Kansas State. However they are a Nike School, so we cannot use their template: uniformcritics.com/football/college/kansas-state-wildcats/www.kansas.com/sports/college/big-12/kansas-state/article95256182.html The uniform selection is dependent on the contract negotiation with the supplier. Champion and Rawlings previously a uniform of choice thirty years ago is out of the current picture regarding sponsorship.
