Chesney is expected to name his starting quarterback for the Colgate game Sunday. Five players have been vying to replace record-setting QB Peter Pujals, who graduated in December and is in training camp with the Minnesota Vikings. Senior Geoff Wade, who played in place of an injured Pujals two years ago and led Holy Cross to a victory over Harvard, has the most experience. Junior Emmett Clifford, who played at the same high school (Loyola Academy, outside Chicago) as Pujals, has two career appearances. Clifford worked with the first-team offense Tuesday, but Wade, Clifford, sophomore Connor Degenhardt, sophomore Dean Nagle and freshman Eddie Scott have rotated against the first- and second-team defense during camp. “They all have different skill sets,” Chesney said. “We feel they are all capable enough. We’re thinking within a skill set that we think we will need to employ to try to beat Colgate. That’s what we have to figure out; it’s not just who is the best quarterback. It’s, ‘Who is the best quarterback for that game plan that week?’ ”

Play was sloppy on both sides according to a reliable report.
Also - Emmett Clifford is the starter at this point, which likely means he gets the nod vs 'gate.
