Interesting......he is not a defensive shot blocker like JF is, but his offensive game has some similarities - lots of moves close to the basket; quick and relentless. Tough kid. We Marlboro men are like that lol

Hard to see him paying for a year Can he prep ? Can't prep, but theoretically could go to a juco. That's very unlikely. In any event, if he wants to be eligible for 2019-20, he needs to get enrolled soon at a new place. That assumes he leaves Notre Dame.

He attended summer school. Apparently got homesick and left without even telling the coaches. ND has not used his scholarship and they apparently are still hoping he will decide to return. He is still listed on their roster.

That could be an issue. No idea what his SAT's and class rank were. As you note, he did not have any offers from schools that have good academic standards for basketball players.

We're so cool we use 2 spellings (actually, we really do).
No idea about his academics, but personally, I think ACC level might be a bit of a stretch for him. He would be great at our level, imho. Given his style of play (at this point doesn't really have a perimeter game), I don't think he would have been a kid Coach Carm would have targeted anyway. But he was very productive; led his team to the Division 2 state final as a freshman. One of those rare kids that stayed at his public high school all 4 years.

Good story on his situation...he's from a broken home; I am rooting for him to succeed wherever he ends up: irishsportsdaily.com/s/6286/grandfather-helps-fuel-chris-dohertys-passionHe's definitely the kind of player that feeds off of people like me that question his chances to succeed at the highest level. When I think of how bad we were in hoops when I was in high school (neither of our centers, 6-3 and 6-4, could dunk!), it's amazing to me that our town would have 2 guys recruited by ND (the other being Zach Auguste, who did finish at a prep school, and was a protege of Togo).

Did he show up back at ND on the 20th (this past Monday)? That was the plan.

Agree 100% - the first thing I thought of when he committed to UND (and I saw a couple of tapes) is that his offense doesn't seem to be what ACC requires in a small forward. Scrappy and coordinated 6-7 kid who would wreak havoc in the PL down low.
