The women's team finished 3rd of 12 teams in the annual Nassaney Invitational in Rhode Island, finishing behind bc and Northeastern. Last year the women finished 4th of 7 teams, behind Brown, Providence, and URI , all three of which did not compete this year. So it's tough to compare year to year due to the change in competition. Jenna Gasparini was HC's top finisher, coming in 3rd this year in 17:57 versus 13th last year in 18:32. The most interesting test for the team will be the upcoming National Catholic Invitational, won each year by Notre Dame, the host. The HC women fished 7th of 12 in 2015, 7th of 11 in 2016, and 6th of 11 last year.

A top 5 finish might well be within reach for the HC women. Even 6th this year (with better individual times) could be seen as a plus.

HC site says her time was even better: Junior Jenna Gasparrini led the Crusaders with a third place finish in the Women's Varsity 5k with a time of 17:52.7.
