Massey has Dartmouth as a 4 point favorite (28-24). He gives HC a 38% chance for the win. The Big Green won 41-0 over Georgetown today.
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) Derek Kyler threw for 177 yards and a touchdown and Dartmouth's defense stifled Georgetown 41-0 in the Big Green's season opener on Saturday. Kyler connected with Drew Hunnicutt on four receptions and a touchdown, and Rashaad Cooper had 16 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown and was one of four ball carriers to score for Dartmouth.
After a pair of Connor Davis field goals, Kyler threw a 31-yard touchdown score to Hunnicutt for a 13-0 lead. Before halftime, Kyler ran it in from five yards finishing a 9-play, 45-yard drive. The Big Green limited the Hoyas to 112 yards total offense on 46 plays; just 2.43 yards per play. Georgetown (1-2) ran the ball 22 times for 40 yards and entered the final quarter with two rushing yards. Gunther Johnson threw for 70 yards for Georgetown.
After a 39-14 win against Marist on Sept. 1, the Hoyas have generated just 366 yards and eight points in their last two games.

A few years back, this would have been a nice soft spot on the schedule but Dartmouth is legit now. They’re we’re the only blemish on Yale’s record last year on their way to an 8-2 record. They absolutely destroyed Georgetown yesterday. Will be another tough game.

The all-time series record for HC vs Dartmouth, with Dartmouth winning the last three games, is 37-39-4. So, we have to rip off a few wins in a row now and get this tilted in the right direction.

do not know if this means much, but on the HC depth chart for the Dartmouth game, Alexander is listed as the starter with Cozier as the backup

Think that really doesn’t matter as I would be surprised if we don’t see more of Oliver and Bruno too. As freshmen, each passing day helps them gain understanding of their roles and will be able to spell the upper classmen.
Neither Alexander nor Cozier looked to be in significant distress afterward. Cozier looked like his injury was more self inflicted as he stretched for the end line, just missing and may have overextended his arm. Alexander, despite hitting his head has one of those concussion resistant helmets.

The freshmen runners look great, but I don't think Yale was fast enough to catch Cozier. Would love to have him back in the lineup soon.

Upperclass leadership can never be overstated. The frosh will certain help get Cozier and Alexander breathers, but I hope both are showing strength and in there and playing as hard as we saw them play against Yale. Will HC Be close to 100% healthy for the Big Green?

Found it and thanks. I was surprised to see in the game notes that HC has gone 9-9 since 2004 in games played in the rain (according to HC stats).

However Cozier got hurt and from where I was sitting it looked like a great effort on his part to try to reach paydirt, I'd be surprised to see him play on Saturday. He had his arm in a sling with an ice pack on his shoulder, not a good sign. If Alexander suffered a concussion, he may not have looked to be in distress but he also may not have known where he was either.

Valid point about Alexander, trimster. I have had conversations with concussed athletes who seemed fine at the time, but only a few minutes later could not remember that we had even spoken. Blocked short term memory can be a serious issue. I hope all our players are well and ready to go vs Dartmouth. But, if safety requires, they should certainly be given time to heal.
Cozier gave it 100% in stretching out to try for the score. Admirable. You want to see that fight in every player , but it can also be dangerous. It appeared as though his shoulder may have been injured when a teammate fell on him after he hit the ground. Hopefully it is only minor and he will soon be back.

Alexander has the rest of his life in front of him and if I were his parents, I'd want him held out of contact for at least a week. I know it's a different animal but I was really surprised to see Rex B playing on Sunday for the Pats after suffering a concussion a week earlier.

1. I am not sure anyone has seen anything official that Miles actually had a concussion 2. Again, we have those special concussion mitigating helmets 3. If memory serves on the replay of the game I thought I saw Miles doing one of those leaping high 5s after one of the TDs 4. That said, if he actually has a concussion, I agree they need to be very conservative

Here are the changes in the Depth Charet from the Yale game to the Dartmouth game:
QB--Was Clifford/Wade NOW Wade/Clifford
TB--Was Cozier/Alexander NOW Alexander/Cozier
TE--Was Mountain/Teeter NOW Mountain/Kuznetsov
LB--Was Honohan/Matt Johnson NOW Honohan/Liam Doran (may have been a type for Yale Game as Matt Johnson was 2nd team at 2 LB positions. He remains 2nd team behind Brady

Two points:
1. It has not been unusual in the past to put a player as second-string for more than one position. Most often it happens on the offensive line. So, I suspect that listing Matt Johnson as back-up for both LB positions was probably not a typo. HC is pretty thin at LB, especially now that Jack Haddon has been out after being injured in the BC game. (Liam Doran is also interesting. He played LB in HS, but has been listed as a DL -- at 215 pounds! -- on the roster. Now maybe that has been a typo.)
2. HC is also very thin at TE. Not sure why Teeter is not listed as the backup, as he was last week. Kuznetsov had been listed on the roster as a DL, but I see that he has now been changed to a TE. He played in the Yale game, but I'm not sure if it was as a TE or as a DL. He is 20+ pounds heavier than Teeter, so it might make sense to use him for run blocking.

Re: tight end, Mike Pizziketti (6-8, 289) was listed as a tight end last year as a freshman but is now listed at "OL". He has not seen any game action this season to date.

Dartmouth held Georgetown to three first-downs. That may be an all-time low for GU. I recall reading on voy that Dartmouth played five tight ends, and most/all had at least one reception.

I think we will see Dartmouth going to the air a lot against HC...right from the start. Our defensive backs wil be tested. Hopefully a good pass rush can help take off some of the pressure.
