A quick re-set on our current offers. Patrick Strzala committed, three scholarships available.
PG. Geo Baker, Caleb Green, David Kachelries. SG. Sasha Stefanovic SF. Walter Whyte PF. Jahsim Floyd
Other names on the Holy Cross VC page: PG Aaron Thompson, SGs Lonnie Walker and Christian Wilson - offered by the previous regime. Thompson and Walker have blown up to high major, Wilson no longer of interest.
Stefanovic has picked up offers from Xavier and DePaul recently, so realistically he's not in play any more. Whyte has picked up offers this past week from William and Mary, Hofstra, and Penn - so he's becoming a longshot. Jahsim Floyd has no other offers - a poster suggested NJIT (with Driscoll on staff) would "steal" him, but since Driscoll left HC, NJIT has offered two other PFs, so they don't seem all that interested. All three PGs have multiple offers, and we will be hard-pressed to get one.
No new Holy Cross offers to 2017s during the April live period so far. This class of recruits will be committing in the next 6-7 months.

Thanks for the update, gw. This is always a suspenseful time (and not just because we are switching CROSSPORTS to a new platform).

According to "Eric Hampton" ... Can’t imagine there being another guard at #PittJamFest who is better at creating his own shot than 2017 @dcbluedevilsnh prospect Geo Baker.

Yes, Driscoll, Kevin. Dump everyone in above list but Floyd. Recruiters better get cracking.

From a Rutgers basketball recruiting web site, reporting a Rutgers offer to Geo Baker:
Geo Baker
Never felt so good Just got off the phone with coach Pikiell! Happy to say I received an offer from Rutgers! #Big10 pic.twitter.com/I5hT4TTuQ5
— Geo Baker (@geo_Baker_1) April 25, 2016 Baker is a point guard that plays at Proctor Academy in Boston, Massachusetts and is starting to gain interest from power five schools. He received an offer from Kansas State and Rutgers yesterday. According to Verbal Commits, he also holds offers from George Mason, Vermont, Holy Cross, and Northeastern, among others. He is known for his ball handling and effort. He needs to bulk up to play in a power conference but is an intriguing prospect that the staff surely see a ton of potential in.

As a senior at Tuscarora High School Kyle C was first in school history to score 1000 career points. Article said he had offers from High Point, MSM, and St Francis (did not say which one) but was thinking of prep school to build up body and get better offers

Shoot, he woulda come to Holy Cross if MB was still our coach. (Sorry, couldn't resist. Sarcasm detector off the charts). At least this puts this subject to rest . . . . hopefully.

Jahsim Floyd has picked up an offer from NJIT - not too surprising given his connection with Driscoll.

Updating our current 2017 recruiting status . . . Three scholarships available. We've made one offer since the end of the season (SG Kyle Copeland), maybe still in the mix for 3-4 kids listed on the Holy Cross VC page. Not sure what level of interest there is from either party.
In Play?
PG David Kachelries (Emmaus, PA). We offered him last September. Since then, he's picked up offers from Lehigh, Rider, AU, Bucknell, Navy, and NJIT. PG Caleb Green (Londonderry, NH). Holy Cross offered last December. He's had no offers since - older offers from Brown, Chattanooga, UNH may still be viable. SG Kyle Copeland (Leesburg, VA) - prepping at Exeter). Offered in late April. So did American. Older offers from MSM, St. Francis (PA). PF Jahsim Floyd (Sayreville, NJ). HC offered Jehyve's brother last June. NJIT offered a couple weeks ago.
Left the Building?
PG Geo Baker (Boston, MA). HC offered last September. Since then, he's picked up offers from Duquesne, Kansas State, Rutgers, Drexel, Penn, and Rice. SG Sasha Stefanovic Crown Point, IN). HC offered early January. Since then, he has offers from Columbia, Indiana State, Ball State, Penn, Yale, St. Joe's, DePaul . . . SF Walter Whyte (New Haven, CT). HC offered last December. Offers since from Siena, Vermont, Northeastern, Hofstra, W&M, Penn, Lehigh, BG, Richmond.
Previous Regime. SGs Lonnie Walker, Christian Wilson. No evidence of ongoing interest.

Serendipitously, while I attended the 43rd Annual Capital All-Star game at CUA, I ran into my DMV/NJ/PA AAU guy in the flesh at the game along with a Harvard talent spotter wearing a Harvard baseball cap. What follows are some things they told me about offeree Kyle Copeland and what I observed followed by some other tidbits.
There were two games to see at CUA. One a low major and one a high major game. In the low major game players Butler and Stewart played. They were OK. Both will attend the USNA. Ryan Copeland was in that game for the suburban team. He did not start.
DC team jumped out on the Burbs in the early going gaining a 17- point lead, but an 8 point run by Copeland cut the lead to 12 at half. He carried the team down the stretch and miraculously the Burbs won a game they almost always trailed in, 78-74.
Copeland showed good feet and positioning staying in front of his man on defense. Made two nice passes to cutters for baskets and cut himself a time or two for baskets. He was 4-6 from 3 land (one was a two with only a toe on the line). He hit two clutch free throws with about 30 seconds left. He's long and skinny, needs work in the weight room. His All-Star coach held two practices. In one of them Copeland could not miss. Per my friend who spoke with him, he has been offered by Bucknell, HC and AU and has serious interest from UPenn and Princeton. The Harvard scout said he will refer Copeland to Coach Amaker. This was a well-played game, not an AAU All-Star game. There were no HC coaches in attendance to congratulate Copeland on an excellent game. Missed opportunity in my mind.
In the second game Rawle Atkins of the US All Stars was the dominant player. Totally out-classed in this game were OUR/LU’s Andrew Kostecka and BU's Scanlon.
******************************************************************
My AAU friend has seen Ryan Daly and Copeland. He sees Copeland, off to Phillips-Exeter, as a huge improvement over Ryan Daly, who can shoot but not defend. Can’t understand why we would want another stand and shoot SG. We need a big, no?
**************************************************************************************************************************************
Caleb Green visited. He is a 2017 PG we have offered. A tich taller than AT. Dod not commit. Prolly looking for a higher offer. Doubt we see him again. imho
