FWIW, Aaron Thompson has received his release from Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, no room at the Inn here but thought it might be of interest to some. I had heard in March, 2016 that he was headed to Vanderbilt That would have been when Kevin Stalling was still the Vandy head coach - shortly before he took the job at Pitt. The Pitt program has completely collapsed. Will likely surpass BC as the ACC's worst them this year. All of their starters are gone. Several others have transferred, and a couple recruits have de committed.

AT2 initially signed with Vandy. When his coach went to Pitt he switched. Have no idea why he is switching again. Saw hi m play against the kid Fultz. Stole the ball from him to send game into OT. Faster, taller Ant. Not as ferocious. Not as good a shooter yet. Can defend and penetrate with the best of them.

Please tell me we're not going to spend the next 4 years analyzing this kid's every move. There's only one poster who gives a rat's ass about him Dave. If everyone ignores his posts, then we'll be good.

I'm sorry, what? " Not as good a shooter yet." I'm sure he is a wonderful human being; but, good shooter? Even our best moment in the last three years needed an Ant air ball to make it happen.

Ant will go down, statistically speaking, as one of the worst three-point shooters in HC history. He attempted the fourth most three-pointers in HC history (447), and hit on 30.9% of them. The only other player who attempted more than 200 three-pointers and had a worse percentage is Pat Doherty.

He's a 6'2 Ant. We would take him in a second, but no chance. The kid can handle, penetrate, dish and defend.

They were both offered a long time ago, and it was reported on this thread. The offers obviously are now off the table, but VC normally does not erase offers once they have been made. They will only disappear if the players commit to another school. Williams has no other D1 offers, so he may be on the list for a long time.

Not an HC recruit, but of local interest . . . Greg Kuakumensah has committed to Niagara. His brother, Cedric, is now playing in Europe.

Butler comes back to beat Madrid all ..... Bulldogs trailed, 59-52, heading into the fourth quarter. After the Madrid All-Stars scored the first basket of the period, Butler went on a 16-2 run to take a 68-63 advantage. The lead grew to eight with two minutes to play. The group that began the fourth quarter and spearheaded the run included freshmen Aaron Thompson and Christian David. From butler site PERSONAL: Thompson's older brother, Anthony, was a four-year basketball student-athlete at Holy Cross (graduating in 2017).

IMHO, at this point, if we're going to take another 6-4/6-5 type, he definitely ought to have POY potential. Otherwise, I'd rather go big, and maybe leave 1 slot available for, yes, a transfer. It would be sweet to get a nice high major transfer after the 1st semester. Not real likely, I know, but I'd personally like to maintain some flexibility. I know I've brought the name up a couple of times already, but I'm still watching Patrick Harding from Fairfield Prep. Still baffling (to me) that he has all this interest, but still only a Columbia confirmed offer. He's been described as an inside/outside player with strong passing skills. Seems to have had a productive summer (according to this link, even a 20-20 in a game in Orlando). No, I'm not his agent. www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/new-england-shines-in-orlandoBringing Dave’s 2016 thoughts on Patrick Harding back to the first page of Crossports.

This thread also reminded me of the curious case of Patrick Strzala who may or may not have been a verbal commit to HC for a period of time. Reportedly had offers from places like Cincinnati and Seton Hall. Went to Manhattan for a year where he played 8 MPG as a Frosh. Played the next year at Mineral Area Junior College. Then went to D2 St. Leo’s in Florida this past season where he reportedly left the team for personal reasons.
