I'll take average attendance over total attendance as a fairer indication of program support, thank you. What if one team played 5 more home games than another?

HC's average attendance was higher than the other schools listed. However, HC chose not to include A-10 schools, which most would consider to be a mid-major conference. .

It's convenient to omit the programs that have a larger attendance. Vermont drew 41,012, an average of almost 3000 per game.

Throwing out stats you can say anything. No where on that does it say HC is the #1 mid major - whether or not you think the A-10 is a mid major It says that HC out drew six other schools. HC might be in the bottom seven in attendance from reading that tweet.
But the tweet department continues to pump these things out to get us excited for the coming season and maybe make prospective recruits think HC is a cool place

With 350+ schools in D1, I have to split the conferences into 3 groups: high major, mid major, and low major. Being a simpleton, I keep it simple in my head, using the postseason for guidance:
High majors - almost always send 3+ schools to the tournament. Regularly sends teams to the Final 4, winning a title at least once a decade.
Mid majors - usually sends multiple teams to the tournament. Regularly sends a team to the Sweet 16. At least once a decade sends a team to the Elite 8 or better.
Low majors - almost always send 1 team to the tournament. Occasionally gets a team past the round of 64, but most of the time it's one and done.
Course, some individual schools don't fit into this narrative (hello, my name is Gonzaga), but by and large this works for me. So, other than the glaring omission of Vermont, I'm ok with the teams they chose for the comparison.

The chose not to embarrass the school from Hanover with a lower attendance than Brown.

The top 4 teams average more than HC could legally fit inside the Hart Center. So until and if Holy Cross starts playing all their home games at the DCU or there is a major expansion of the Hart - neither being close to a probability - we will never be among the top in New England. That's OK by me. Just sell out the Hart Center regularly!
