My idle guess, but our 'recruiting sweet spot' so to speak are the kids on this page of the thread who have been offered by mostly lower FBS programs and maybe a few FCS schools (non-Ivy)....our real recruiting competition at this level are the William&Mary's, Richmond's, Villanova's of the college football world imo

The recruiting game fascinates me regarding the managing of 60 scholarships, the timing of offers, who to extend offers to, and when to pull them, etc. Was curious to see where we stood at this time last year.
4/30/2018 - 59 offers extended 4/30/2019 - 36 offers extended
Did HC flood the market last year to get their name out? Are they just identifying the people they want this year on a more focused basis? Last year they extended 177 offers (only validated through twitter) to get a class of about 16. Keep in mind 5 of the 21 kids never tweeted they got an offer - Haughney, Kelley, Guillemette to name a few.
Ultimately it's a numbers game. With the likes of who they are up against on these first 36 offers it's going to take a lot to get that class of about 20-22 that Breezy has alluded to in the past - which I agree with that number for this next class.

While I have not yet totaled offers by state or metro area, I think I see a pattern of most current offers being made to recruits in a few states / metro areas..
FWIW, this is the listed recruitment catchment area for each assistant coach.
James: Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire, Vermont, Wisconsin Murphy: Massachusetts (Central & Eastern), North Carolina, South Carolina * Abraham: none listed Barese: Arizona, California, Connecticut (Fairfield County) Canan: Connecticut, Florida (Southeastern), Massachusetts (Western), New York (Long Island) * Deandrade: none listed * Gilchrist: none listed * Pucko: none listed Smith: Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando, Naples & Tampa Areas), New York (New York City & Upstate) Vaganak: Michigan, New Jersey (Northern), Ohio (Northern), Rhode Island
* First year coach, no areas listed. No first year coach seems to have a background that would suggest a particular geographic familiarity with the high schools therein. IMO, where there are offers to recruits living in states not listed above, e.g., GA, TX, HC's offers are to athletes with multiple prior offers, a 'follow the pack' approach. Mr. Spread 'em and Shred 'em recruits in half of MA, where HC is a well-known commodity, and in two states where HC rarely offers a recruit. No comment. .

Sorry but in football circles this has not been true as of late. Chesney is changing that.
