www.goholycross.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=33100&ATCLID=211773279You can get Defensive Player of The Week when your team is down 34-0? I love Ryan Brady and respect his work ethic, but don't understand how you can give out awards to a team that is dominated on defense. The point of the game is to WIN. It's not about rewarding personal stats that have zero impact on the game.

Regardless, congratulations to Ryan Brady as I definitely enjoy watching him on a weekly basis.

So, think about what the score would have been if he didn’t play and make all those tackles.
I may be in the minority opinion but do believe a player on a losing team can be an MVP.

It may be a sign of the PL's football woes that a linebacker on a team that gives up 34 points in a one-sided game is PL defensive player of the week.
I do think Brady is a very good PL player.

The offense stunk. The defense did everything they could. It has to be hard when you make a stop and then your offense goes three and out and you have to go back on the field with a short field. Especially since the offense didn't get a first down since the 4th quarter. They held Dartmouth to 4 field goal attempts. Dartmouth had the ball for almost 40 minutes.

Offense was bad, defense not much better, especially in the 1st half:
DART 1st H34 14:47 Interception H08 10:40 Missed FG 9-26 4:07# DART 1st D35 08:38 Punt H07 05:38 *FIELD GOAL 7-58 3:00# DART 1st H38 04:11 Punt H11 14:51 Missed FG 9-27 4:20# DART 2nd H37 14:06 Interception H20 10:14 *FIELD GOAL 9-17 3:52# DART 2nd D32 08:10 Punt H00 02:28 *TOUCHDOWN 10-68 5:42 DART 2nd D43 01:18 Punt H00 00:03 *TOUCHDOWN 10-57 1:15# DART 2nd D27 00:00 Interception D27 00:00 End of half 0-0 0:00
In their first six possessions, Dartmouth had no trouble at all moving the ball against our D. Two very short chippie field goals missed, two field goals made, and two touchdowns.

First...congratulations to Ryan Brady.
Second, I think this may be a bit like having a goalie set a record with 60+ save in a hockey game and his team losing. He may have had a very good game, but how on earth does a defense let him have to face that many shots?
Ryan has been solid in every game (thank goodness). But it does tell you something about the play in the PL this year that he was this week's choice.
