Bias noted, but URI's biggest OOC game every year is vs. Providence.

How can Vermont be GMU's biggest non-conference opponent when they play Cinci and Kansas State?
And, as rf1 noted, the Rams play the Huggins-men as well as PC.
Not a very credible article.

Only wish that HC would now play URI in football. I guess I'm an old Yankee Conference fan at heart

Couldn't you at least have chosen your Crossports name as "CaptDave?" If you'd have asked me, I could've helped! As they say in the Navy, "welcome aboard." (Did I get that right? )

Only wish that HC would now play URI in football. I guess I'm an old Yankee Conference fan at heart Agree. Love the UNH series but wouldn't mind seeing URI or Maine. Funny this season we would probably have a better chance to beat them in hoops than football. URI typically only has one open OOC game each year due to 8 CAA games, Governors Cup versus Brown and one FBS game. Plus with Bryant having a DI team now, that's one more in state team for them to play.

URI football has rarely played Bryant and hasn't done so since it went D1 (last meeting was 2002). URI men's basketball will be playing the Bulldogs this season for the first time since they began their transition to D1 back in 2008. Given that Bryant is relatively new to D1, the two RI schools have very little common history with one another. Since 2008, the schools have played each other in secondary sports like soccer and baseball. Rhody annually plays PC in men's basketball and Brown in both basketball and football because of a century of tradition doing so. They are both among the top most played opponents all time for URI in these sports.
