Malcolm playing very well double digit scoring drew offensive foul on Ben Simmons, getting plenty of minutes and doesn't look overmatched at all

14 points coming off the bench. He was one of the first in, and has been in the regular rotation..2 minutes left in the game

Here's the box score.Perhaps most impressive of his 14-point, 4-rebound outing tonight is a game-high +20 in +/-.

My favorite in-game tweet from last night:
Simmons just ended up guarding Malcolm Miller on the perimeter, clapped his hands and said Cmon, Cmon. Miller blew right past for a layup.

Someone remind me of MM's contract status... did he sign with the Celts for multiple years?

Someone remind me of MM's contract status... did he sign with the Celts for multiple years? It was a one year league minimum contract..No idea what he has now..

On one first half possession, Malcolm ended up on Simmons on a switch.....and held his ground and forced a turnaround jumper that missed.
With the umpteen draft picks the Celtics have had over the last few years, it seems the odds of MM breaking through with the Cs are really slim. Perhaps the plan last night was to give him some extra burn, so the team could get an early evaluation. We'll see what happens tonight - good luck Malcolm!

MM started, playing about the first 8 minutes. Five points - a long 3 in transition, and a nice drive and extended arm kiss off the glass.

MM has been out there at the end of both games. He has played well, not spectacularly. Seems like there is a bit of confidence in him y the staff. They put the ball in hands to inbound the ball late, and he gets to finish..

He was one of the better players on their D-league team this year so his good play the last two nights can't come as a complete surprise to the organization. If the numbers don't work with the Celts, the Knicks could certainly use him. And then I'd be able to care about my Knicks again.

glad to see mm playing very well.
if simmons is as good as many believe he will be, mm will likely remember that play 92 described for quite some time!

It would be nice to see the Knicks bring in someone other than a former star on the downside of his career. Right now they seem to be celebrating their trades since they allow them to rise to mediocrity. And that will only happen if players who are repeatedly injured can stay healthy.

Slightly off topic, but Jeremy Lin (you remember linsanity?) has signed with the Nets. Go Brooklyn!

When Lin was playing, I was able to watch the Knicks for at least a few games without become physically ill at how far they had fallen from the days of Bradley and DeBusschere.

Watching Malcolm as a freshman I thought he was extremely talented and would develop into a dominant PL player. Unfortunately his tragic family situation derailed his sophomore season. Thereafter he developed into a very good player but I always thought there was another level he should have achieved. Until his fantastic final game he never took on the role of the lead dog telling the other guys to jump on his back and let him lead them to the promised land. Maybe that game showed him how good he could really be and he's carried it over to his play post HC. I'm hoping that the confidence that MA and RC gained by their fantastic post season run will propel them to great senior seasons.

Hope so also, but MM's ceiling was far higher than either RC or MA

Completely agree just sorry we didn't see more of the MM that dominated the bucknell game because I feel he was that good.

Completely agree just sorry we didn't see more of the MM that dominated the bucknell game because I feel he was that good. He's proving that he was that good, just never realized it while at HC. Bringing Malcolm to HC was Milan Brown's crowning achievement as head coach, IMO. His inability to harness his potential while at HC was really, really unfortunate...for everyone involved, and for many reasons and on many levels (as possum partially touched on the non-basketball element of his career).

Malcolm was a kid who IMHO would have benefited greatly from a post grad year at a prep school, having come from a small high school. Even back then, he never put up huge numbers. And although I can't find the story now, I remember someone posted an interview from his high school days where MM acknowledged that "potential" was a word he heard early and often.
Maybe he'll be known someday as the greatest late bloomer in HC hoop history!
