I like Chris Butash
Clifford we seen has not been good. Also, Degenhardt could not beat out Clifford or Wade.

Wade became very good, someone else will step up...I hope Very Good is debatable. Sometimes he makes good plays. Other times he is lost. First quarter vs Lafayette First Half vs Fordham Whole game vs Dartmouth' 1st half vs Bucknell -also could not get in from the one. even though he actually did. I was in the end zone. 1st half vs Harvard Whole game vs UNH. He did play well against Lehigh when he needed to. And he played exceptional in the second half vs Yale. You my as well Start Butash. All you have do next year is win the League and get to the playoffs. I think they should have no problem beating Harvard and Brown. Yale and UNH I can't gage and Syracuse and Navy are Syracuse and Navy. If Butash can throw that is half the battle of wining some more games. Wade struggled at times to complete passes and in turn threw a lot of balls into covegrae and turned it over.

Wade also has another year if he and HC want to make it work.

Wade is sometimes limited by the playcalls of Mr. Spread 'em and shred 'em. ______________________
Butash plays for a small, private, academically rigorous school in Tampa, 400 students I very much doubt he will get the start against Navy, unless he is a phenom. The school is ranked 353 in Florida by MaxPreps.

Well, the coaches now know all of the players and will have a full year to work with them. Based on what we saw this year, I believe they know what is needed and will/may develop someone who can get it done...hopefully.

Last transfer QB who started for HC? Trying to think of one...AJ Nieman came to HC from Cincinnati in the mid-80s and started a couple games I believe but was ultimately replaced by Wiley.

Wade also has another year if he and HC want to make it work. How is that possible? While he did not play his freshman year, he was rostered as the 4th string QB. He was still 4th string (after Bell and the QB from Missouri who was apparently injury-prone) when as a soph,he finally took over after PP went down.

I think a transfer QB may be the best option...younger guys still need to develop etc....we shall see.

FBS level team QB to HC would not have to sit for a year.

Is there a chance he was injured during his frosh year? Not sure of the criteria for 'incapacitating'(or 'season ending') for a backup buried on the depth chart - I'd guess practice participation comes into it. (Like so many others, I'd like to see the PL permit the ordinary non-medical redshirt.)

I’d be shocked if we put a true freshman in to start against two FBS schools. Just not enough time to even remotely be prepared. If we don’t have anyone else on the roster better than Wade, he should stay for a 5th. Start the new kid as a soph and give him 3 years. If he’s really that good.
I'd also add that I was impressed with Wade when he stepped in for PP two years ago, and also impressed with his performance this year, other than a few slumps which, retrospectively, were probably related to superior defensive opponents, poor play calling, and poor blocking.
Wade seems to be entering into that "sweet spot" range for an FCS quarterback.
Just my 2 cents.

Georgetown’s QB is a University of Arizona transfer so you could research that locale.

There are quite a few FBS/FCS players from very good academic schools that have publicly made it known that they are looking to transfer (Brown, Harvard etc). Hopefully HC can be in the mix with some of them. The only problem is that some are looking to finish their eligibility by attending grad school.

JMO - fbs transfer, Degenhardt or the freshman. Otherwise, next season will be a replica of this season.
