Why is the game at Yale when Harvard is the highest seed ? Because they rotate where the Ivy Tournament is to be played in advance and this year it was going to Yale.

So if Dartmouth or Cornell do not make the four team tournament but are the hosts, the fans attending will have a long drive over the bridge and through the woods to Grandmother's house.

Was about to ask the same....I thought the Palestra was always going to be the venue, but I could see that would give UPenn an advantage.

Robt Morris vs St.Francis (one of them) women's final on ESPNU now. If you want to feel good about the Hart, look at the Robert Morris gym.

Speaking of the women, bucknell beat American by 12 to win the PL today They will get crushed in the 1st round - our league was terrible this year

Penn hosted in 2017 and 2018. Yale hosted this year. The others will all host once between 2020 and 2025 2020 - Harvard 2021 - Princeton 2022 - Brown 2023 - Cornell 2024 - Dartmouth 2025 - Columbia Not sure why this is better than letting the top seed host. I guess the Ivy thinks it’s big enough that fans of the top 4 teams will travel to a neutral site for a weekend. Will be interesting to see what happens in the Cornell and Dartmouth years.

Facilities did not stop RMU from stopping us in the Atlantic Hockey Tournament, either.

The depth of both Harvard and Yale is really something. How long before the Ivy becomes a multi bid league?

I just clicked on the link, thanks, and the new facility looks beautiful. The only price tag I could see mentioned is $7 million. That must only be for rehab of the existing facility, it couldn't be for the new construction.

Harvard should get the automatic NIT bid. I assume Ivy rules allow other post season tournament participation, but not sure because I think they still don't participate in the FCS football playoffs.

The Ivies have had played in the CIT, CBI tourneys in the past....think they still do.
FCS playoffs are a different story...as I've maintained, in my opinion they are probably right in this.

The bronzed statue of Robert Morris on the RMU campus gets to sit on a bench, while Cooz has to stand for eternity in front of the Hart.

Your view has merit, but still would have loved to see the Duffner teams have a crack at a national championship.

To clarify, I'm speaking to multi NCAA bids. I think Harvard talent wise is comparable to a a 6-7th place high major imho.

Yes, I meant to say with their recruiting advantage building on their improved competitiveness/scheduling, they are in a virtuous cycle and two NCAA bids are possible in good years.

Speaking of the women, bucknell beat American by 12 to win the PL today They will get crushed in the 1st round - our league was terrible this year The top half of the PL was better this year than it has been the past few years. However that is irrelevant since only one team goes to the tournament. I doubt Bucknell will win a game, but it should be noted that the Bison have the best RPI ever for a PL team (currently #37) and the second best Massey ranking ever - behind the Army team when Minato was a senior. Of Bucknell's five losses, three were to good teams on the road, and they have four top 75 wins. They should be a 12 seed, but the Committee probably will give them a 13.
