Losing 3-1 after 2. And we’ll start the third period on the penalty kill for the first 1:32. Very disappointing game (and season) thus far.

1-8-2 in Atlantic Hockey. Let’s throw more money at Berard! Maybe more years?

Bentley must be feeling pretty chipper after their weekend - did you know that they knocked off BC on the road 4-2 Friday night ?

3-15-2 in the last 20 games -- with a contract extension for the coach sprinkled right in there.
Ready for the Hockey East!

The coach was 39-28-17 in the league his first three years and the program was building momentum. Let's hope we can get back on track. Coaching contracts extensions are challenging for an AD. You have to make a decision during one snap shot in time. You can see what has led up to that point, but you can't peek ahead and see how the rest of the movie plays out.

Sorry to say, but a friend of mine, a hockey follower, gave up his season tickets because he does not think Berard is the right coach for HC hockey! I do not know enough about the sport to say whether he is right or wrong. Do we have the talent to compete and win where we are now or do we not?

It’s either lack of talent or poor utilization of talent. Either way, it’s on the coach

That win came in his second postseason game at HC -- a 2-1 win in 3 OTs, with 50 saves by Matt Ginn. Since then, his tournament record is 0-7, getting outscored 28-11 in those 7 games.

I know that Tommy Nixon started the first couple of games before being injured and that he has not returned. It is hard to assess the real impact of that injury since we know next to nothing about his talent level. Last year's stats reveal that Paul Berrafato played every minute of every game. Berrafato played every game but one the season before (Nixon started that one.)
It is on the coach for not having another guy ready to go. The way the schedule sets up, giving the starter a rest once in a while thereby allowing your backup to get some experience makes sense. This reliance on just one guy might also explain our postseason failures.
