the first mention I noticed was his retirement, well semi retirement from teaching. Congratulations, Father the second was in the feature on football player, Andre Harton, who credits Fr. K with motivating him to major in History. well done Fr. K

the first mention I noticed was his retirement, well semi retirement from teaching. Congratulations, Father the second was in the feature on football player, Andre Harton, who credits Fr. K with motivating him to major in History. well done Fr. K Thank you! Fr. Boroughs and I were in the same small community (12 Jesuits) together as seminarians in Chicago. When he arrived at Holy Cross, I told him to ask me, if he saw something else I could do. After due consideration on his part, and then on mine, I accepted his offer to split my time 50/50 between the History Department and the Alumni Office. The new arrangement started July 1. Normal teaching load on the 3-2 faculty schedule would be ten courses in two years. I'll be teaching five courses in two years, with the rest of my time going to the development office. Having been here a total of 36 years (1974-76, and continuously since 1981), I know quite a few of the alumni through the classroom and through work as team chaplain. I look forward to getting to know more and to being in touch in my new capacity. Can this old dog learn new tricks? Stay tuned....

Father K: congratulations on your new assignment. This sounds like a great way of keeping your hand in teaching while bringing your gifts to the alumni initiatives

Congratulations on your "semi-retirement," Fr. K! And for you and KY, I have changed my motto under my avatar for your benefit. Hopefully it won't offend the atheists on the board.

Yes, I have used that one often. In my case, the blessings of having two great sons are only superseded by my two wonderful grandchildren [who will both be going to Holy Cross in 14 & 17 years from now. The first will be a Holy Cross cheerleader and the second will be linebacker on the football team].

I will not be at the gathering in Seattle. However, I'm meeting early next month with Kristyn Dyer and Tom Cadigan to go over alumni events in the coming year. Enjoy the fellowship and the presence of Fr. Boroughs!
