IMO "Much ado about nothing." +1 hoops. I care about how they play. Not how they look.

The players care though. Also, when recruiting, we want to be "cool" to 17 year olds.
(What's the word for cool now ? 🙂)

Thanks to the Oregon Ducks, how they look is more important than ever and having a great "look" can be a help in PR and recruiting. That said, I am with CTP. I care about how they play, not how they "look" (unless it is something like those REALLY ugly basketball uniforms Albany wore a couple of years ago).

Wasn't the big reveal supposed to be today?

The snippets in the video don't show much but what is briefly seen looks rather bland.
EDIT: In retrospect, Pujals was wearing the new jersey on media day. Frankly, the new Adidas practice jerseys look much better.

I don't use social media but whatever the link is above from what sounds like the equipment department has a promo video saying yesterday was the big day the new uniforms were to be revealed, so I would assume the ones we've seen in media day photos are not the new ones. Otherwise what's the point of the reveal?
We need to have an all black uni with purple trim to use for select games.

Our unis last several years have been poor. Can't even cover the shoulder pads properly.

We need to have an all black uni with purple trim to use for select games. No! No! No! The college's color is ROYAL PURPLE. It is distictive. It stands out. It says Holy Cross. Much like replacing the numerals on the helmet with an HC makes the school readily identifyable, the uniform should be distictive. Not that I would, but use black as an accent to your heart's content. All black might be all the rage, but it is not distictive. An all black uniform makes Holy Cross a copy cat. One of the crowd. We should stand out, not blend in. I can not stand the black or gray warmups the teams wear when they travel the past few years. I have travelled through airports much more frequently in the last 2 years and I often see teams waiting to get on planes. You see 20 people walking through an airport wearing black or gray and you say oh, they're propably a college team and you're left wondering what school Wear a (primarily) purple warm-up (or at least jacket) with a large HC Logo Shield or Holy Cross large enough to read and you reinforce and build your brand. Ditch the black.

According to the 2014 NCAA letter, link supra, to football coaches et al, a black jersey with purple numerals would not be allowed. Black jersey, purple trim, white numerals, eeehhhhh.

Don't like what they've done in general to some of the old striping pattern; the replacements look, IMHO, dumb.

The hockey team played with black and purple uni’s and it looked cool, but that’s hockey.
Personally, I like it when football teams that have a strong historic tradition stick with the distinctive colors that display that tradition. When you watch a game with Alabama or Penn State, you know its Alabama/Penn State, etc. We’ve recently seen Ohio State go to all black uni’s and Notre Dame go all green and it just doesn’t look like Ohio State and Notre Dame. It looks forced and synthetic, like they’re conforming to the latest trends.
I'm not too crazy about the new diamond/net/argyle pattern or whatever it’s called, but I guess that’s what the players like. JMO, the best all time HC football uni's are those of the Duffner years.

Ask the players what they think. Ask them if they'd like to run out of the tunnel in all black at Yankee Stadium.

JMO, the best all time HC football uni's are those of the Duffner years. Any uniform would look cool when you're going undefeated:) I also like the purple shirt and gray pants of yore. The purple on purple and bleached out white on white of the present are a little too blinding IMO, and agree with the fact we need to get the shoulder pads to stay in. Seemed a little better last year than the year prior. In terms of black, as I said, this would be for select games. Teams do this all the time; there's a reason why it's a trend. Players and fans get thoroughly jacked up about it. Also let's all remember it's 2016, not 1985.

Re: Duffner. They can't be exactly like those...the shirts can't hang down like they used to. But other than being able to tuck them in, agree.
Getting the color, etc. exactly the same would take a bit of effort, too, as they were Champion brand and Champion got out of the uniform business a while ago.

Champion got out of the uniform business a while ago. Yet another sign I am getting old(er). When an AD, I ordered uniforms for all sports through Champion. Their representative would show up at my office with new designs and we would sift through them. look at the requests of my coaches, and place orders over a year ahead. Oh well, onward and upward!

Actually, they are still in that business. My apologies. But I haven't seen anything in Mass. that resembles what they used to sell. Certainly haven't seen that little "C" around. Maybe they just don't market around here any more. I liked their stuff, HC or not HC (BC's Flutie era unis were theirs, not the recent knockoffs of same). team.championusa.com/view_catalog.html
