Lafayette had a nice 79-72 win at Boston U tonight. The Pards come into our game this weekend with a record of 6-16 (3-8 in the PL). Massey makes HC a two point favorite (71-69) with a 57% chance for the win.
HC took the first match-up at home by 7 (77-70).

Lafayette is the only team below us in the standings. This is a must win X 10!

Lafayette's Myles Cherry, the 6-8 junior forward who was having a solid year, has missed the last seven games with what their board describes as a "stress injury."
They've lost four straight at home.

Rob, does Jarrett have 55 or 36 blocks? I suspect you meant to compare him to Jehyve.

Hard to tell who LC will start, but note that Petrie has not started any games the last few weeks. He has been playing 20 mpg off the bench. Also, as pointed out above, Cherry has not played for almost a month. Their starting center the last few weeks was Sean Good, who only plays 10-15 mpg. Also Suffren did not start last game, only playing about 10 minutes. Kyle Stout started in his place.
Btw, Good, who is 6-10 200 lbs (likely less) provides zero offense, but he has the same rate of blocked shots as Floyd, albeit in a much smaller sample size

On the surface, this is puzzling because he produces 24 points per 40 minutes and it's not because of foul trouble as he stands at #5 in fewest fouls/40 minutes in Division 1. He was number 4 last year. I guess he is not a good defender--sports-reference supports that notion--and perhaps he has stamina issues. He has played 30+ minutes in a game only 6 times in his 2 years at Laf. O'Hanlon does use a deep bench: Laf is #9 in D-1 in bench minutes per game.

He is not a good defender. His EFG Pct has also fallen from 53.6% last year to 47.8% this year. Biggest reason he produces so many points per 40 minutes is that he takes 38% of his team's shots while he is on the floor. That is the 5th most of any player in the NCAA.

nd, have I ever told you how impressed I am about an "Irish" grad rooting so hard for the "Crusaders?" . I salute you! Grazie mille! When I was at ND I can remember that a lot of the Philly kids were huge fans of Villanova and St. Joe's, so it wasn't all that unusual that I would continue to support HC. ND, by the way, had zero support from the South Bend community. In four years, I never met one student from SB, nor did I know anyone who dated a SB girl. Worcester, back in the day, had quite a different relationship with HC.

To be filed under "Cognitive Dissonance" . . . Lafayette is 6th nationally in free throw percentage (77.4%), but 347th in FTA/G. They're the best free-throw shooting team that almost never gets to the line.
